Restaurant guide to the best grilled sardines in Lisbon

In June, these Lisbon restaurants fire up their grills with the arrival of the warmer months to grill thousands of fresh sardines.
There are a few restaurants at the heart of this tradition, with taverns serving them on the classic slice of bread or plated with the usual sides. Behind every grill, the masters of the fire work nonstop to keep up with demand that never slows down. It all starts first thing in the morning, when the owners scour local markets in search of the freshest fish of just the right size. If you don’t want to miss out on a spot, the tip is simple: book in advance whenever possible, or arrive early to secure a table on the terrace before everyone else.

Standard, preferred, and VIP tickets available; options include different levels of complimentary drinks.
The AirOtic Soirée show presents an immersive burlesque circus that combines high-risk aerial acrobatics and provocative choreography.
Exclusively for those 18 and older, this artistic production breaks down the barrier between the stage and the audience, delivering a sensual storyline where international acrobats perform just a few feet from the crowd. The night continues after the stage lights go out with an after-party in the same venue. The space quickly transforms into a dance floor led by a guest DJ, where attendees mingle closely with the cast members and extend the party in an exclusive setting.

The 96th edition of the Lisbon Book Fair returns to Eduardo VII Park through June 14.
