Watching a movie in the open air only happens during the summer months, and in Lisbon we’ve discovered the best places to see outdoor movies.
In these open-air spaces, it’s true that you won’t see the latest releases, but we guarantee that the whole experience will be well worth it.

Black Cat Cinema
Black Cat Cinema’s new outdoor movie season began on June 26, with its premiere in the Cloisters of the Igreja da Graça.
But both the Palácio do Grilo and the most recent addition, the IDB Lisbon rooftop , are once again hosting memorable movie nights in Lisbon, this time accompanied by musical performances before the screenings.
This year’s line-up includes hits such as “Poor Things” and“The Worst Person In The World “, as well as undisputed blockbusters such as “The Grand Budapest Hotel”, “Legally Blonde” or “Top Gun: Maverick”.
The Black Cat Cinema offers a unique and varied program, with popcorn, pizza and drinks… this time until October.

Cine Society
Cine Society ‘s open-air cinema experience is one of the most exciting in Lisbon, and one of the main reasons for this is the location where the films are shown: at Carmo Rooftop and, for the first time this year, at Doca da Marinha, with incredible views of the city and the Tagus.
Until October you’ll be able to see some of the best films, old and new classics.

Cinemateca Portuguesa
The Cinemateca Portuguesa and the Cine-Gastro Bar 39 Degraus offer one of the best open-air movies in Lisbon this summer.
The screenings start promptly at 9:45 p.m., giving you the chance to enjoy a cinematic experience outdoors on the terrace.

Benfica by Moonlight
“Benfica in the Moonlight is the name of the open-air movie event that once again featured four nights of films for all ages in the gardens of the Baldaya Palace in Benfica.
This was one of the most eagerly awaited initiatives of the Benfica Parish Council this summer, and it animated the hottest nights of July , between the 25th and 28th, always at 10pm.

Cinema in summer
Parque Mayer continued with its open-air movie sessions in August, to watch for free on Fridays and Saturdays, on the terrace of the Capitólio movie theater.
The screenings started at 9pm, with the doors opening at 8pm, and there was a cafeteria service from 8pm to 11pm.
