With the arrival of summer, outdoor cinema is back in Lisbon (and the surrounding area) with a variety of events for all tastes and ages. From classics to animated films, not to mention recent hits, you just have to pick your favorite.
Plus, this year, for the first time, you can catch movie screenings on the beach. However, for those who’d rather skip the sand, iconic spots like the cloisters of the Church of Graça and the Grilo Palace are always worth considering. Shall we take a look at the list?

Cine Conchas
From June 25 to July 11, CineConchas is back at Quinta das Conchas, in Alta de Lisboa (Lumiar).
Organized by the Musgueira Social Center, in partnership with EGEAC, you can watch movies outdoors in one of Lisbon’s most beautiful green spaces.
If you’re interested in adding this event to your cultural calendar, note that it takes place every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, always at 9:45 PM. It’s also worth noting that the lineup is diverse:

Cinecapitólio Rooftop:
Summer nights in Lisbon take on a new charm at Cinecapitólio Rooftop. Why? Comfortable lounge chairs, blankets for cool evenings, popcorn, drinks, and a selection of outstanding films transform this space into a unique place to watch movies for €14 per person.
The film selection combines great classics with recent hits, ensuring an immersive experience with high-quality projections and high-definition sound transmitted through headphones.

Black Cat Cinema
With the arrival of warm weather, Lisbon transforms into a giant outdoor screen with Black Cat Cinema screenings in unexpected locations, such as the cloisters of the Church of Graça and the Palácio do Grilo.
These iconic venues will be stocked with street food, drinks, popcorn, and, of course, films for all tastes, such as “Twilight,” “The Lion King,” “Amélie,” “Mamma Mia,” “Lost In Translation,” among many others.

Cine Society

No list of outdoor cinema initiatives would be complete without Cine Society, to keep you company on warm summer nights.
Through October 16, Carmo Rooftop and Doca da Marinha, along the Tagus River, promise to be the perfect setting for watching the best films.
From classic films to contemporary productions, there are options for all tastes and ages, with screenings accompanied by blankets and popcorn.
