The Lisbon Festivals are about to begin andwill continuethroughout the month of June,with many activities, concerts, and, of course,thetraditional street partiesin Lisbon’s various neighborhoods,in what isone of the most incredible festivals in the country.

What to see, hear, do… and eat

From May 29 to June 26, the capital will be filled with sardines, music, and local pride. With over 40 events —the overwhelming majority free and outdoors— the program for the 2026 Lisbon Festivities was designed to combine traditional local pride with a strong international component.
Between the traditionalMarchas Populares parade,which will return to Avenida da Liberdade on June 12, it will be a month full of activities,with dozens of events and various street festivals,as well asconcerts, movies, theater, exhibitions, and the Weddings of Saint Anthony.
So you don’t miss out on the best the city has to offer, we’ve gathered the main highlights, dates, and locations for a month that promises to transform the capital.
Lisbon Festivals Program

May 29, 30, and 31
Even before we enter June, the celebrations kick off on May 29, 30, and 31, with the MEO Arena hosting the Marchas Populares performances, featuring 20 competing groups showcasing their choreography and costumes to the jury.
And this year, there’s a first: all the marching bands will perform the winning composition “A Europa em Lisboa,” in line with the central theme for 2026: “We Are Lisbon. We Are Europe.”
This very opening weekend, the first 15 popular festival grounds will open their doors , spread across eight parishes in the city.

From May 28 to June 30
The famous and much-anticipated popular festivals, invarious Lisbon neighborhoods, begin on May 28.
They are the true celebration of the Santo António festivities in the city.And this year there are plenty of new things, from alternative festivals along the Tagus to rooftop parties.And we havethe perfect guide for you!

From May 28 to June 12
Lisboa Cultura will be at the Lisbon Book Fair with plenty of new literary releases, as well as outdoor film screenings and silent reading sessions with headphones.

The Trezena de Santo António returnsto the Lisbon Museum, with a wide-ranging program that includes fado, guitar sessions, walking tours, talks, guided visits, and activities for the whole family, in addition to the now-traditional street exhibition dedicated to the Thrones of Santo António.

June 5 and 6
Gisela João and Pedro Moutinho will bring guests to the Concerts at the Castle on the 5th and 6th at 9:30 p.m., with the historic walls preparing to be the stage for magical nights where Portuguese music will take center stage.
In an idyllic and breathtaking setting, the Castle will host two unique concerts that promise to celebrate the national spirit through unprecedented musical encounters:

June 7
On this “trip” to South Korea, you’ll experience the best of K-Pop, cuisine, and culture in a total cultural immersion for the whole family.
In a true celebration of vibrant contrasts, the initiative offers visitors the opportunity to explore everything from the global, infectious rhythms of K-Pop to the solemnity of Korean classical music and martial arts, such as taekwondo. The cultural itinerary is rounded out with dance performances, authentic culinary tastings, and traditional games, ensuring a day of discovery, flavor, and entertainment that promises to bring different generations together.
It will take place in the Gardens of the Lisbon Museum – Palácio Pimenta, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

June 7
Another explosion of color is coming to the city with Bollywood Holi, which returns with a splash of colors, dance, and cuisine.
The 11th edition of Bollywood Holi is back, promising a vibrant and immersive journey to the heart of Indian culture. This festival, already an unmissable highlight in the city, combines tradition and celebration in an event designed for the whole family within the Hindu Community of Portugal.
Throughout the day, visitors are invited to explore the Mercado da Índia and take part in a packed cultural program, which includes:
- Immersive workshops
- Flavors and tradition
- The festival of colors

June 8
It will be a 10 km run or a 4 km walk, in anevent already considered historic, returning to the streets of the capital.
Combining the spirit of sports with traditional popular celebration, this iconic event invites the public to push their limits in a 10K race or enjoy the city on a relaxed 4K walk.
More than just a simple event, it is a true mass phenomenon with a place firmly cemented in the city’s history. Over the course of 13 highly successful editions, the initiative has already drawn more than 42,000 enthusiasts, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated traditions of the year.
The race will start in Belém, and registration fees vary; sign-ups are now open on the race website.

June 12
The night of June 12–13 is when the biggest celebration of these Lisbon Festivals takes place , with the parade of popular marches on the Avenue and the Weddings of Saint Anthony:
- Parade of the Popular Marching Bandson Avenida da Liberdade starting at 9 p.m.
- Weddings of Saint Anthony,at City Hall at 11:30 a.m., and at Lisbon Cathedral at 2:00 p.m.

June 16
From Mozart to Gounod, this will be the must-see concert celebrating the greatest opera classics at the Gulbenkian.
In a production that promises to be memorable, the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra join forces to present an immersive journey through the grand universe of opera, revisiting the most celebrated compositions that have marked successive generations.
The show features the magnetic direction of the renowned conductor Alevtina Ioffe, on a night made even more brilliant by the solo performance of the talented violinist Francisco Lima Santos, ensuring a performance of the highest technical level and artistic sensitivity.

From June 19 to 21
As usual, Thailand is back at the Lisbon Festivities with three days of celebrations featuring cuisine, fashion, cinema, massages, and Muay Thai demonstrations.
This event will take place at Jardim Vasco da Gama in Belém, featuring a festival with programming for all audiences.

June 20
Students from the city’s elementary and middle schools come together for a day of celebration under the motto “We Are Lisbon, We Are Europe.”
This year, the event moves to Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques on June 20 at 5 p.m., marking the 30th anniversary of the Children’s Parades in the city of Lisbon.

From June 25 to July 11
In the 2026 edition, nine films will be screened at the CineConchas outdoor cinema in the Jardim da Quinta das Conchas, ranging from action movies to comedies and romances:

June 26
The grand finale of the Lisbon Festivals will feature a live concert by Matias Damásio, who will invite Ivandro, Rita Guerra, and Héber Marques to join him on stage .
On a night that promises to remain in the city’s memory, the grand closing concert will be headlined by Matias Damásio, one of the most beloved names among Portuguese-speaking audiences, who brings all the romanticism and heart of Angola to the capital’s stage.
To mark the end of these iconic celebrations, the musician has prepared a unique show that stands out for sharing the stage at the Jardins da Torre de Belém, at 9:30 p.m., with unmissable talents of Portuguese-language music: Rita Guerra, Ivandro, and Héber Marques.
