If you’re like us, who love a good mariscada in Lisbon, with spider crab, lobster, lobster, barnacles and clams, it’s at this time of year that we most want to relax in a seafood restaurant or brewery and enjoy these “fruits” of the sea.
And there are quite a few restaurants in Lisbon serving the freshest seafood you can imagine.
These are our favorites, but as new places are opening all the time in the capital, please send us a message with your suggestions.
Table Of Contents
Eduardo das Conquilhas
There are few places as iconic as this in Greater Lisbon, as the Eduardo das Conquinhas seafood restaurant is located on the Cascais line, more precisely next to the Parede train stop.
The late Eduardo Santos was the founder of one of the most emblematic restaurants in the area in 1965, making it very famous thanks to the quality of its seafood and typical Portuguese dishes, such as Conquilhas à Bulhão Pato.
It’s a dish that isn ‘t always available, due to the closure of this delicious bivalve, but on the menu you’ll find plenty of other excuses to stop by, from Lobster and Lobster from the Nursery to barnacles and clams, to eat in one of the three indoor rooms or on the sunny terrace.
Address: Rua Capitão Leitão 118 (Parede)
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 12pm to 11pm (Tuesdays open at 6pm)
Reservations: by cell phone 91 107 38 90 or by e-mail geral@eduardodasconquilhas.pt
Ramiro Brewery
Ramiro is that place where, when you talk about going to eat seafood in Lisbon, everyone says: “Let’s go to Ramiro!”
It’s also one of the oldest places in the city, founded in 1950 as a pasture house, and one of the most famous for serving the tastiest seafood in town.
So get ready because you might find a queue at the door. But if you don’t feel like waiting, Ramiro also delivers a spectacular Ramiro Menu to your home.
At Ramiro you can be sure that you’ll be eating the best seafood that arrives in Lisbon, from langoustines, crab and razor clams to prawns, barnacles and clams.

Real Pérola by Olivier
It’s true, chefpreneur Olivier da Costa has opened his own seafood restaurant in Lisbon, more specifically next to Largo do Rato.. . and we’ve been there and loved it!
To begin with, the restaurant, which is divided into three spaces, is very beautiful and glamorous, reminiscent of one of those modern “tascas”, but where you can still eat the best seafood in town by hand.
The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from typical appetizers such as Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato (26€) or oysters (between 9€ and 28€), to Arroz de Marisco (85€) or Pata de Caranguejo Real (95€), and ending with desserts… our favorite of which is Prego do Lombo (24€).

The Palace
Also known as O Palácio de Alcântara, this is one of our favorite seafood spots in Lisbon.
And, after being well served the freshest sea snacks the city has to offer, at the end we always leave room for the delicious bifana, accompanied by the always fresh and lively imperials.
The house specialties include lobsters and lobster with the famous glutton sauce, grilled tiger prawns with a special sauce, dogfish and clams with a house-style sauce, crab and spider crab with stuffed shells, burriés and razor clams and canillas. The hard part is choosing and that’s why we go there so often!

If you’re looking for a rich seafood platter in Lisbon, you’ll find it at Marisqueira Azul, which brings the best of local fishing, with fresh seafood from the Ribeira Market, to a privileged location in the city.

Nune’s Real Marisqueira
In Belém is one of the city’s most famous seafood restaurants. For starters, it’s a must to try the prosciutto, and only then will you be served one of the house’s seafood specialties.
You can choose between a Mixed Seafood for two people (210€), or opt for more affordable portions, such as Berlengas barnacles, clams, razor clams, shrimp, spider crab, lobsters, crab, witches’ bream and oysters.
At the end, if there’s still room, try the Prego do Lombo no Pão. It’s delicious!

Ribadouro Brewery
It’s been around since 1947, being one of the oldest breweries in the city, and has become famous for the snacks that bring it to this list: seafood.
It was a favorite haunt of spectators and artists alike, who turned this brewery into a place for socializing and fun, where snacks and the always fresh and “lively” imperial could not be missing.
Every time you go to Cervejaria Ribadouro, you already know that you have to finish the Prego do Lombo.
Until then, enjoy the crab, lobster and lobster with the best sea flavors Lisbon has to offer.

It is, within this list of seafood restaurants, perhaps one of the most recent to serve fresh shellfish and fish, and its seafood rodizio is its highlight, with affordable prices that include Stuffed Crab Shell, Crab Legs, Boiled Shrimp, Barnacles, Whelks, Oysters, Bulhão Pato Clams, Spanish Mussels and Prawns al Ajillo.

Liberdade Brewery
On the lowest floor of the Tivoli Hotel, on Avenida da Liberdade, you’ll find one of the most recent breweries to serve seafood in Lisbon, more precisely in 2017.
Since it opened, the aim of this cervejaria has been to serve the best snacks and seafood the old-fashioned way, and it stands out for its service, which is also reminiscent of the most classic places.
In this space, we really must highlight the three Plateau versions: Marisco Cervejaria (6 oysters, crab shells, 200 grams of boiled shrimp, Bulhão Pato clams) for 60€; Marisco Avenida (4 oysters from Setúbal, 4 oysters from the Algarve, 1 boiled crab, 300 grams of boiled shrimp, Bulhão Pato clams) for 95€; and the Tivoli Seafood (6 oysters from Setúbal, 6 oysters from the Algarve, 1 boiled crab, 300gr of boiled shrimp, 1 boiled lobster, Bulhão Pato style clams) for €150.
