If there is a time of year when Lisbon comes to life, it is when the days get longer and stages begin to be set up by the river. The summer of 2026 promises to be not just “another summer,” but a season of consolidation for major music venues.
With the return of Rock in Rio Lisboa to Parque Tejo and MEO Kalorama to Parque da Bela Vista ( again at the end of summer), the capital’s cultural agenda is busier than ever.
But the options don’t stop at these two major events; if you’re already organizing your schedule —and your budget—we’ve prepared a guide to what really matters this year.
Forget the indecision and get everything you need to know about the festivals that will dominate conversations in the coming months.
Coala Festival 2026
@coalafestival.pt
Straight from Brazil to the Cascais Line, Coala Festival has solidified its presence on the Portuguese calendar, proving to be the breath of fresh (and tropical) air that was missing.
Unlike “mega-events,” Coala Festival kicks off the summer festival season in Lisbon at the end of May, focusing on a more comfortable experience and a refined curation that mixes classic MPB, Samba, Rap , and the latest trends in Brazilian music. It’s the perfect event for those who want to dance with their feet on the grass, in a sunny atmosphere with contagious energy that crosses the Atlantic.
If you like Brazilian culture, the Portuguese language , and prefer a festival with good vibes and without the confusion of huge crowds, head to the Coala Festival, which last year had a relaxed, colorful atmosphere focused on celebrating music in the Portuguese language, this year with names such as Maria Bethânia, Slow J, Bonga, and Lulu Santos, among others.
When: May 30 and 31
Where: Manoel Possolo Racetrack (Cascais)
Tickets: at Fever

Rock in Rio Lisbon

This is the big news of the year for all festival-goers. After debuting in new surroundings, Rock in Rio has confirmed its commitment to Parque Tejo for the 2026 edition.
Leaving Bela Vista was a risky move, but the location by the river, overlooking the Vasco da Gama Bridge, offers a scale that few festivals in Europe can match.
And what you’ll find is less dust, more space to move around, and, inevitably, headliners designed to fill a massive venue.
If you enjoy big pop and rock shows and family entertainment, this is the must-see festival, with an increasingly impressive lineup featuring names such as Linkin Park, Katy Perry, Cindy Lauper, Rod Stewart, Pedro Sampaio, Sepultura, Cypress Hill, among many others.
When: June 20 , 21, 27, and 28
Where: Parque Tejo (Parque das Nações)
Tickets: at Fever

The concept combines top-notch cuisine with concerts by renowned artists (both national and international), all in the gardens of the Palácio do Marquês de Pombal.
It is the perfect festival for more mature audiences looking for a complete cultural evening (dinner + concert).

With concerts ranging from jazz to soul and sophisticated pop, it offers the chance to see iconic artists in an intimate setting, often seated, in the heart of Cascais.
If you want to escape the crowds and jostling, and you value watching a concert with a glass of wine in your hand, this is the festival for you, where you can enjoy performances by David Byrne, Jamiroquoi (sold out), Loyle Carner, Franz Ferdinand, Chet Faker, Scissor Sisters, and the ever-present Diana Krall.

It’s perfect for young people, students celebrating the end of exams , and fans of urban culture, in a “free and wild” environment.

Evil Live Festival
@evillivefestival
After an outdoor experience at Estádio do Restelo, Evil Live listened to its fans and in 2026 will return to the format that made it famous: indoors, at MEO Arena.
This year, the festival is focusing on a single day (July 5), promising a marathon of heavy music without the distractions (and excessive heat) of open venues.
If you’re a fan of metal, heavy rock, and darker sounds who prefers the comfort and acoustics of a closed arena, mark your calendar for the following concerts: Marilyn Manson, Mastodon, The Gathering, and Imminense.
When: July 5
Where: MEO Arena (Parque das Nações)

NOS Alive

Year after year, NOS Alive maintains its status as one of the country’s most carefully curated and “muscular” festivals. The Algés Promenade is already a must-visit destination at this time of year.
In 2026, the promise remains: to bring the bands that are at the top of the world charts and the legends that rarely set foot on national soil. It is, most likely, one of the most sought-after tickets of the summer, often selling out months before the doors open.
It is the summer music festival for true lovers of indie, alternative rock, and quality electronic music, this year featuring names such as Foo Fighters, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, A Perfect Circle, Pixies, among many others.
When: July 9, 10, and 11
Where: Algés Promenade

O Sol da Caparica
@osoldacaparicafestival
Crossing the bridge, the scenery changes, with the O Sol da Caparica festival continuing to be the great bastion of music made in Portuguese.
Here, there is no attempt to please foreign tourists; it is a party made for us, with the best of Portuguese, African, and Brazilian pop, hip-hop, and rock, always with the beach atmosphere right next door.
O Sol da Caparica is the most relaxed festival of this bunch, ideal for groups of friends and families who want to sing along to familiar choruses from start to finish, especially if you appreciate Portuguese music and want a pure, unadulterated summer party atmosphere.
When: August 13 , 14, 15, and 16
Where: Costa da Caparica Urban Park

MEO Kalorama arrived recently, but has already won a place in the hearts of lovers of indie, electronic, and even alternative rock. It will return at the end of the summer (the 2025 edition took place at the beginning), serving as a grand farewell to the season.
It stands out for offering a more urban and contemporary atmosphere, mixing music with art and sustainability. It is a festival that attracts an audience looking for something beyond the obvious, with lineups that mix a wide variety of musical genres, catering to almost all audiophile tastes.
If you are looking for a cooler, less crowded atmosphere than other festivals, but with the same technical quality, MEO Kalorama is the right choice.

Where: Bela Vista Park

Quick tips for the 2026 season
To ensure your experience is memorable for all the right reasons, keep in mind:
- Advance accommodation:
- With Rock in Rio at Parque Tejo and Alive in Algés, demand for hotels on the outskirts of the city skyrockets. Book with free cancellation as soon as you know the dates of your festivals;
- Mobility
- In 2026, pressure on public transport will be high.Always choose the train and metro over private vehicles or ride-hailing services in the vicinity of the venues.
- Hydration and footwear:
- It seems basic, but the venues in Lisbon (especially Parque Tejo and Algés) require kilometers of walking. Your comfort should be the number one priority.
