After a winter that was fairly mild in terms of the weather, you can finally take your short-sleeved shirts, straw hats and sunglasses out of the trunk and enjoy the best that Lisbon has to offer in spring.
The milder, more spring-like days are approaching and, to make the most of them, we’ve selected 20 plans that you can’t miss.
1 – Late afternoon at a viewpoint
Lisbon has many viewpoints that you can choose from for an incredible evening, but we suggest the Miradouro de Santa Catarina to start with, better known as the Miradouro do Adamastor.
Once there, order a beer and admire the sunset while listening to music or even dancing.
2 – Enjoy the views over Lisbon
Climb up to São Jorge Castle and just watch the city from above.
3 – Let your imagination run wild
One of the best places to do this in Lisbon is at this paint-in-the-dark event with drinks.
Neon Brush is a painting experience in a dark room, with only fluorescent lights around you and where you can enjoy a drink included in your ticket, with the option to buy more at the bar.
4 – Be a tourist in your city
Be a tourist in your city, at least once in your life, and take the full route of Tram 28.
A word of advice: start at the first stop in Prazeres, otherwise you probably won’t be able to sit down.
5 – A unique view of the city
It was once a downtown secret. Today it’s an exquisite restaurant, Terraço Editorial.
Even so, it’s always worth a visit to the top floor, the former Pollux terrace. If only to see the views and take some photos.
6 – Enjoying the Tagus
Spring is synonymous with picnics. Take your basket, towel and food, get together with some friends and have a little snack on the grass at Ribeira das Naus, looking out over the River Tagus and feeling the breeze.
7 – How about an “ice cream”?
You know that when spring arrives, the opening of Conchanata in Alvaladeis announced.
It’s one of the best ice-cream parlors in the city, in Alvalade, which has been open since 1948 and closes during the harsh winter, but we know of many more ice-cream parlors that you’ll love too.
8 – Blindfolded dining
If there are things we like to try in the city, it’s new things that might surprise us because they’re different from the usual. And that’s exactly what these dinners in the dark will give you!
Dining in the Dark are mysterious din ners that will challenge you to enjoy food like never before, in some of Lisbon’s best restaurants.
From the moment you put on your blindfold, the only thing that matters is you, your company and the tastes and smells of the delicious meal in front of you.
9 – Lisbon trails
Did you know that the “city’s lung” trails have been rehabilitated? If you didn’t know, now is the right time to go hiking in Monsanto and stroll along the Panoramic Viewpoint.
10 – Take advantage of Lisbon’s cycle paths
Rent a Gira and ride along Lisbon’s most incredible cycle paths.
You can also take one of these five family bike routes. They are known for being the safest for children and adults with little experience of cycling.
11 – Running is also good for you
If you’re more of a runner, how about a springjog along one of these Lisbon routes where you can get in shape for next summer?
12 – A route in the city center
Parque Eduardo VII has one of the most fascinating routes in Lisbon: Estufa Fria, viewpoints, gardens and much more.
13 – Lisbon’s Santos Populares
Lisbon’s Santos Populares are the city’s main festival, after being suspended in recent years due to the pandemic.
Grilled sardines, dances, stages with music until the early hours, concerts, festivals, beer and lots of entertainment. This is the month of June, entirely dedicated to the Lisbon Festivities.
14 – On the other shore
Cacilhas is right on the other bank of the River Tagus , as is Almada, which also has lots to see.
Take a boat and explore everything you can on the other side of the Tagus, from Cais do Ginjal to Cristo Rei.
15 – The first swim
Whether it’s cold or sunny, Jardim do Torel never disappoints this spring. And, if the good weather helps, it invites you to stretch out your towel and soak up the sun.
16 – A brunch comes in handy
If you’ve been putting off getting up early at the weekend to try brunch, now’ s the time.
Choose one of our best brunches in town and eat like a king.
17 – Theater and performing arts
Theaters are definitely an excellent option to enjoy in spring, with lots of new plays to see in Lisbon’s main venues.
Highlights include the comedy “Love & Social Networks”, “Le Cabaret Rock” by Custom Circus, among others, make up some of our suggestions in this area of entertainment.
18 – Live music
Warmer days invite you to spend long afternoons on the terrace. What if those afternoons lasted well into the night?
For example, at one of these tribute concerts to the best bands and artists from all over the world, such as the Beatles, U2, Bon Jovi, Coldplay, Queen, among many others, at Monsantos Open Air.
19 – Spring candlelight concerts
If you’re a fan of more classical music, and if you’re always looking for that new place in Lisbon, then these candlelit concerts are perfect for one or more of your spring evenings.
But we’re not just talking about the great conductors and composers! In these concerts you can listen to your favorite artists, such as ABBA. .. in their most classic and incredible versions.
20 – Lisbon is very big
It’s really big when we talk about the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, which is made up of 18 municipalities as different and interesting as Oeiras, Cascais, Sintra and Setúbal.

The city of Lisbon is an invitation to the best gastronomy in the world. This year we were considered the 9th best gastronomic destination in the world by TripAdvisor .
