I can’t tell you how hard it was to write this guide to ice cream parlors in Lisbon! It was such an arduous task that it started with 5, then it became 10 and now it’s 16.
And even so, we’ve left a few out. When in doubt, there’s nothing like trying them all and seeing for yourself.
Come on, take a look at this fresh, cool itinerary, perfect for summer days.
Table Of Contents
La Verde
The La Verde ice cream parlor is one of the newest additions to the city of Lisbon. Its aim is to bring the best of Italian flavors to the Portuguese, offering a wide range of options.
However, one of the biggest surprises is its cone XXL (€12). Yes, you read that right. Here you can literally ‘devour’ a giant ice cream cone and choose up to six creamy balls.
However, for the less greedy, there are also other possibilities, including a small cone or cup (€3.90), the medium size (€5.30) and the large one (€6.80).
Address: Travessa das Pedras Negras, 18
Santini
There are those who swear with all their hearts that they have the best ice cream in Lisbon and there are those who disagree, but truth be told, there shouldn’t be anyone who doesn’t enjoy Santini’s ice cream.
The first house opened in 1949 in Tamariz (Estoril), then moved to Cascais and in 2010 arrived (finally!) in the capital.
This is to the delight of Lisboners, especially those who used to have to drive along the Marginal (or the A5) from one end to the other and still face long queues at the door.
But this fame is no accident! Those creamy ice creams with just the right texture, made by hand and served in a wide variety of flavors are a real temptation. It should be noted that they can be tasted in more than one spot in Lisbon and the surrounding area.
Address: Rua do Carmo 9 (Chiado)

Mú
Our guide to ice cream parlors in Lisbon features a very special couple from Verona (Marco Bauli and Elena Castrioni), who have brought the tradition of Italian ice cream to the zone of Campo dos Mártires da Pátria, where they have been delighting Lisboners since 2014.
The success was such that, shortly afterwards, they opened another house, this time in Príncipe Real.
And today they have another space, located in the bairro da Graça, at 164 Rua da Graça.
In this new store, in addition to the artisan ice creams that have made the brand famous, it offers residents and visitors a selection of the best Italian coffee and pastries, to enjoy at any time of the day.
Served in a glass or cone, at Mú the ice creams are 100% handmade and without any added colorings, chemicals or preservatives. Every season there are new ice creams to try.
Address: Campo dos Mártires da Pátria 50 (Intendente); Rua da Graça 164
Nannarela
At Lisboa Secreta we like this ice cream parlor so much that we’ve even declared our love for it.
Despite the queues, even today we are still in love with those genuinely Italian ice creams that arrived in the São Bento area by Constanza Ventura from Rome.
Pistacchio, Flor di Basilico and Parmeggiano Regianno with rock pear are some of the flavors we’ve tasted and… we approve! If you prefer, there are also vegan options.
Address: Rua Nova da Piedade 64 (Rato)
Artisani
Of the various stores that the brand has around the city (from Alcântara to Telheiras, passing through Campo de Ourique and Rua do Ouro), we chose the one in Estrela, because it combines those delicious ice creams with a nice Sunday stroll through the garden next door.
As the name suggests, Artisani is another tasty representative of traditional, artisanal Italian ice creams, with classic flavors and more original ones, such as passion fruit sorbet with yuzu.
To accompany them, there are also crepes, waffles and pancakes, as well as ice cream milkshakes.

Amorino
If you see someone walking through Chiado while eating an ice cream in the shape of a flower, you know it’s from Amorino.
In addition to its original shape, it has also won over Lisbon residents (and beyond) for its creaminess and diversity of flavors.
The specialties of the house (which has since reached other parts of the city and even Porto and Vilamoura) are the Amorino chocolate and pistachio flavors, but every month there is something new to try.
Location: various locations
Luc Duc
At a good time Luciano Pelizzari and Duc Hoang exchanged Italy in the Campolide neighborhood.
The winners were the people of Lisbon, who now enjoy typical Italian ice creams, served in countless flavors.
The most popular are available all year round, while others vary according to the season.
Please note that Luc Duc is closed on Wednesdays, so save your cravings for the other six days of the week.
Address: Rua de Campolide 57A (Parque)
Nivà
After Turin, in Italy, and Cannes, in the South of France, Nivà has arrived in Lisbon with the concept of cremeria, that is, a place where traditional Italian ice creams are made, creamier than usual.
In this small house in Príncipe Real and also in Alcântara, you can taste around 20 flavors, prepared first thing in the morning, before the house opens its doors.
Stracciatella, strawberry, Turin hazelnut or pistachio are some of the most famous.
Address: Rua da Escola Politécnica 41 (Rato)
Conchanata
Italian ice cream, gluten-free ice cream, perfect ice cream. Conchanata has been sweetening our mouths with its delicious artisanal ice creams since 1946, in the neighborhood of Alvalade.
If you go there, be sure to try the famous strawberry sauce and order a Conchanata bowl with four balls.
If you’re patient, you can still get a seat on the terrace.
Address: Avenida da Igreja 28A (Alvalade)
FIB
The ice cream parlor that gives us Gross Internal Happiness, brings together genuinely Italian skills.
In addition to the traditional flavors, we can count on some very surprising flavors, especially the vegan chocolate ice creams made with cocoa from rare plantations, or vanilla from Madagascar, São Tomé and Tahiti.
At FIB you’ll also find a secret flavor: Acqua in Bocca, which surprises with its always delicious combinations.
FIB is always reinventing itself, so it’s best to go there several times so you don’t miss out on anything new.
Address: Avenida Padre Manuel da Nóbrega 13E (Areeiro)
La Fabbrica
When you go with your friends to Arco do Cego, don’t forget to stop by La Fabbrica for a round of ice creams!
For those who remember the old ice cream factory on Avenida de Berna, you can go to this ice cream parlor as a tribute.
We suggest trying the interesting spaghetti ice cream!
Address: Rua Dona Filipa de Vilhena 14A (Saldanha)
HeyMate
At HeyMate, ice cream is eaten in rolls. The trend is relatively new here, but it has already caught on, largely thanks to the almost mesmerizing preparation, at the moment, on a cold plate.
Pastel de Nata, Bola de Berlim and Bombocas are some of the flavors available.
If you like new experiences, you can also order the new summer editions with various mixtures of incredibly fresh flavors.
Address: Rua Acácio de Paiva 4A (Alvalade)
Grom
From the best the earth has to offer come the flavors of Grom, mind-blowing Italian ice creams, with an emphasis on seasonal fruit flavors.
If you’re in Chiado, choose one of the ice creams from this ice cream parlor to keep you company. With this heat, the walk becomes more pleasant.
Address: Rua Garrett 42 (Chiado)
Fragoleto
In the heart of the lower town you’ll find Fragoleto, with handmade ice creams with 0% lactose, 0% gluten and vegan.
They say they have the best vegan flavors in town and we couldn’t agree more because they really are delicious.
By the spoonful or on a stick, Fragoleto’s ice creams are to be savored calmly, very calmly.
Address: Rua do Comércio 15 (Baixa-Chiado/Terreiro do Paço)
Scoop ‘n Dough
Scoop ‘n Dough is one of the ice cream shops in Lisbon where you’ll not only find vegan artisan ice cream, they also specialize in making delicious donuts and milkshakes.
As all the ingredients used in this ice cream parlor are plant-based, you can be sure that you’ll leave here very well fed… and with the feeling that you haven’t sinned.
Address: Rua das Portas de Santo Antão 78 (Restauradores)
La Romana
After passing through several European cities it’s Lisbon’s turn to receive the flavors of the La Romana ice cream parlor, which claims to offer real Italian ice cream.
You really have to try the more traditional flavors, such as Crema dal 1947, Zabaione Come una Volta, Pesto di Pistacchio, Pesto di Nocciola Trilobata or Croccante della Nonna, to which is added the Pastel de Nata flavor, in a tribute to national sweets.
Address: Rua de São Nicolau 44 (Baixa)
