August is the month when summer enters its best phase: while many take advantage of the heat to go bathing on the various beaches in and around Lisbon, there are many who stay in the city, and it is especially for them that we have created this guide, with various plans and ideas for having the most fun during this vacation season.

One of our favorite Lisbon brunches, the Marriott’s Pool Brunch, reopens this month and this year brings a number of new features .
The Marriott’s pool brunch is one of the most complete, both gastronomically and in terms of entertainment. After eating everything you want for three hours, you can take a dip and relax until 8pm.

Climbing the 25 de Abril Bridge
Now that we’ve taken you to the top of the bridge, how about a trip underneath? Escala 25 is one of Lisbon’s newest entertainment and sports venues, where you can climb a 12-meter-high wall.

“Diving” with more than 500 marine species
One of the most incredible places to visit with the little ones in Lisbon is, without a doubt, the Lisbon Oceanarium.

There’s a new water attraction in Seixal
It’s called Splash Seixal and it brings a series of water rides to the south bank that are sure to delight all children… and all parents, as there’s plenty to enjoy.

A real Jurassic Park
Lourinhã’s Dino Park is one of the largest outdoor themed attractions in Europe, with almost 200 full-scale models of dinosaur species.

“Inside” the mind of the genius painter
There’s no doubt that the exhibition that’s going to be the talk of the town in the near future is the one highlighting one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, the true surrealist painter by the name of Salvador Dalí.
The immersive exhibition “Dalí: Cybernetics” will be one of the most futuristic exhibitions Lisbon has ever hosted, with large-scale 360º projections, interactive areas and virtual reality technologies that will take you on a journey to Dalí’s parallel universes.

After the Full Strawberry Moon, how about taking another look at the skies?
From July 12 to August 23, the “Delta Aquáridas” meteor shower is taking place . For the best view of this phenomenon, it’s best to get out of town or head to one of these locations in the city.

On this guided tour you’ll get to know Amália Rodrigues even better, as well as how she lived. On a visit to her House-Museum, you’ll find out everything.
Opening her home to the public was one of Amália Rodrigues’ greatest wishes. This goal was realized on July 23, 2001, when it was transformed into a House-Museum to share her most personal and intimate side with all her fans and onlookers.

Breathtaking aerial acrobatics
The AirOtic Soirée show is already “flying” over Lisbon in a unique immersive circus experience under the theme of burlesque cabaret.

Exhibitions, Art and Fashion
Reopening of the Design and Fashion Museum
This is one of the main novelties of summer 2024 in Lisbon. After eight years of waiting, the Museum of Design and Fashion (MUDE) has finally reopened its doors to the public.
According to SIC Notícias, MUDE currently has 17,000 pieces, but is due to acquire more by the end of the year. What’s more, although it’s not yet possible to visit the building in its entirety, there are already plenty of reasons to stop by.
Of the eight floors that make up this imposing building, two are closed, but one of the biggest attractions is the top floor. From this terrace, you can enjoy a privileged view over downtown Lisbon, so it’s well worth a visit.

Poster Show
This is already the 9th edition of Poster Mostra, which returns to Marvila for another trip to various cultural sites, i.e. on various building walls in this typical Lisbon neighborhood.
In this open-air gallery, this year you’ll be able to see several posters by guests such as Mariana Baldaia, Ray, André Da Loba, Chinelo, Susana Cereja, Kampus, La Vie De Marie, Kid Richards, Maxime Chanet, among others, as well as posters by the 17 winners of the Open Call Poster and Open Call Sandeman.

Visit the Banksy Museum
The Banksy exhibition in Lisbon is now the Banksy Museum, in a clear commitment by the city to a place that has been receiving more and more visitors since it opened in the summer of 2022. And there are 12 new works for you to see!

Puppet Museum: the art of storytelling
In the Madragoa neighborhood you’ll find a space that allows you to travel the world through the history of puppets. A museum that deserves to be visited, whatever your age.

MAC-CCB is the new abbreviation for Museum of Contemporary Art Centro Cultural de Belém, which in 2023 began occupying the space of the former Berardo Museum. It opened at the end of October.
