The Tagus is our “sea”, our inspiration and is one of our favorite places to spend time. And these are our favorite entertainment.

The Tagus, but on the other bank
On the south bank of the Tagus there’s a place we really like! We’re talking about Cacilhas, which, despite looking rundown in some places, is a very peaceful and pleasant place.
Also on this side, you have many things to entertain you with in Almada.

“Esplanar”
Because the weather is almost always good in Lisbon, go to a terrace is one of our favorite pastimes, where you can relax for very little money, just by ordering a coffee or a water.
Our list of terraces by the Tagus it’s incredible and was created for the summer, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it while the weather still allows.

Free museums on Sundays
In case you haven’t heard, the entrances to the museums, palaces and monuments managed by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage are now free on Sundays and public holidays.
The measure, which we applaud, as do all those who enjoy culture and events of this kind, came into force on September 1, 2023, and only citizens residing in Portugal are guaranteed free entry.

Sintra Palaces free 60 days a year
Parques de Sintra already granted free entry on Sundays, but only to all residents. It now extends the free to all residents of Portugal.

The history of “fashion”
Clothing from the past, present and even the future is present in the Costume Museum, a must-see in one of the world’s most stylish capitals… Lisbon of course!

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (last entry at 12.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.)

Tiles in plain sight
Lisbon is the city of tiles. We have murals, panels, entire façades covered in tiles, old ceramics factories right in the city center.
I’m sure you’ve been through many of these panels, there are thousands of examples all over our city, on practically every street corner.
If you’re looking for free plans in the city, this is one we’d recommend, but be prepared to walk a lot!

The secret places… and free at Lx Factory
How long has it been since you made free plans to go to the Lx Factory? The place is still fantastic, with always new things to see and try.

A street full of magic
In the heart of the city there is a street, the greenest in Lisbon. It’s called Green Street, is located in a century-old district of Lisbon, near Santos, between Conde Barão and São Bento.

Shopping at Feira da Ladra
A Feira da Ladra, one of antiques markets lisbon’s oldest, is our favorite flea market in the capital.
Most of the times we go there we don’t even buy anything, but it’s always a different experience that we love to repeat on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

Do you know São Jorge Castle inside out?
The question seems strange, but the truth is that many Lisbon residents still don’t know “their” castle from the inside, only some of its curiosities.
If you’re on this list, you should know that a visit to São Jorge Castle is free for residents of Lisbon. Excellent free plan, isn’t it?

Marvila, a route through the East of the city
