Every time another day of the Web Summit technology conference comes to an end , you start thinking about what to do afterwards, where you can go for a drink and continue networking in Lisbon. That’s precisely what we’re going to suggest in the next few lines, with the best ideas for continuing to make contacts that will allow your business to evolve.
The Web Summit is once again shaking up Lisbon this week, from November 10 to 13, with thousands of people flocking to the MEO Arena in Parque das Nações to learn more about the future of technology, attend trend-setting talks and, of course, network .

The thing is, when the lights go out at the MEO Arena and FIL, the question always arises: “where am I going to go now?”, assuming that the classic “home-work-home” triangle (or, often in this case, “hotel-conference-hotel”) is out of the question.
The Web Summit is the best excuse you have to break out of this routine, and going out for a drink with colleagues or new contacts is the best thing you can do, even if you’re thinking about future business.
If you think that it is in more relaxed environments that the ideas of this conference are based, that it is in social moments that the strongest relationships are created, then this guide to the city will bring you enormous advantages.
Take the metro, call an Uber or venture out on foot… Lisbon has a nightlife and social life that deserves your visit, and it goes far beyond Parque das Nações.

Near the epicenter of the Web Summit (Parque das Nações)

If you don’t want to stray too far from where the Web Summit is taking place, staying in Parque das Nações might be your best choice, as there is so much to enjoy and get to know in the most modern area of Lisbon’s capital. Here are some of our highlights, but you’ll find many more in our guide:
- Sky Bar Oriente
- Located at the top of the Tivoli Oriente Hotel, it offers a superb view over the Web Summit area and the Vasco da Gama Bridge. It’s the ideal place to impress a new business contact with signature cocktails.
- Irish & Co.
- If you’re looking for quality craft beer and a more relaxed atmosphere, this is the place. It’s within walking distance and perfect for a more technical but informal chat. And if you like watching the ball, it’s the place to be.
Enjoy a triple immersive art experience

With this single ticket you can “enter” three different immersive experiences on various themes: Da Vinci, Ancient Egypt and Monet.
The experiences transport you to three different creative universes, from the head of the Renaissance genius of Michelangelo and Da Vinci, to the mysteries of Ancient Egypt, culminating in a celebration of color and light with the works of Monet and Klimt.
More art, more adventure and more magic, all with just one ticket. Each show combines art, history and technology in a celebration of creativity and human emotion.
To see Lisbon from above(rooftops)

Lisbon’s rooftops are perhaps the best social export in recent years. Seeing the city from above as the sun goes down is a must. Here we suggest just three, but in our guide to terraces in Lisbon you’ll find 17 more:
- PARK (Bairro Alto)
- Imagine a parking lot transformed into a hanging garden with one of the best views of the river and the bridge. Arrive early if you want a good spot at sunset.
- Carmo Rooftop (Chiado or Martim Moniz)
- This terrace in Chiado offers an incredible view of the Santa Justa Elevator and a direct view of São Jorge Castle.
- SEEN Sky Bar (Avenida da Liberdade)
-
-
- At the top of the Tivoli Avenida Hotel, this rooftop is one of the most sophisticated in the city (and with prices to match). If you want to celebrate a closed deal or have a premium experience, this is the place.

“The Death of the Raven”: the immersive thriller that takes you into the minds of Poe and Pessoa

Forget conventional theater! “The Death of the Raven” is the cultural phenomenon of the moment, redefining the performance experience in Portugal. It’s a unique immersive production that plunges the audience into an intense psychological thriller, exploring the hallucinatory universes of Edgar Allan Poe and Fernando Pessoa.
The action takes place over 28 rooms, where you have to abandon the passive role. Here, there is no stage and no fixed chairs; you are invited to freely explore the space and (per)follow the nine characters who inhabit this labyrinthine story.
The production’s greatest asset is the total absence of lines. The narrative, full of mystery, sensuality and action, is conveyed exclusively through body expression and choreographic movements, demanding your full attention.
If you’re in Lisbon just to attend the Web Summit, but are staying until the weekend, don’t miss this intense theatrical adventure on Fridays and Saturdays.
Where the night happens (Cais do Sodré and Chiado)

If you want to feel the real pulse of Lisbon’s nightlife and immerse yourself in the crowd, the Chiado/Cais do Sodré axis is the destination.
Lisbon’s nightlife takes place mainly in these two typical neighborhoods and no one visits the city without passing through one of the bars or restaurants. It’s a must!
- Luís de Camões Square
- Networking isn’t just about closed spaces, noise and discreet drinking. Praça Luís de Camões is one of the city’s most popular meeting points, or it wouldn’t be halfway between the Chiado and the bohemian Bairro Alto.
- Rua Cor de Rosa
- This is already one of the most photographed streets in Lisbon, largely due to the pink color with which it has been decorated, and has already been used as a networking stage by the Web Summit organizers themselves.
- Pensão Amor
- This former brothel has been transformed into an absolutely unique cocktail bar. The decor is provocative, decadent and fascinating. It’s a place that generates conversation all by itself.
Revisiting Amália, the Queen of Fado

“Ah Amália” is the immersive exhibition that recreates the Queen of Fado with holograms, 360º and virtual reality, in a cutting-edge cultural experience that promises an “unforgettable journey” through the life and legacy of the iconic Queen of Fado, using technology as the main vehicle for emotion and discovery.
More than just a tribute, the exhibition transcends time and space by guiding you through eight themed rooms, where you are invited to immerse yourself in the artist’s universe through cutting-edge technology, including a fully immersive 360º room, a virtual reality movie and an impactful infinity mirror room, as well as the hologram show.
Portuguese wine tasting

What do you mean you’re in Lisbon and can’t taste some of the best nectars in the world?! Some people are looking for leisure activities that are quieter, but no less fun. Our next suggestion takes you to the Wine Tasting Bar, the new afterworks spot!
After this tasting, accompanied by an expert guide, you’ll learn about the history of Portuguese wine and the complexity of our grapes, their regions and the importance of this drink in our culture and history and throughout the world, by from six wine regions in our country.
As you can see, the Web Summit passes, but the routine doesn’t have to continue! The conference ends on November 13, but this list (and the city itself) are still here. If you can’t visit all the places now, save this list for a future visit.
