It’s official: the season of major outdoor events is already in full swing. With the arrival of good weather, Lisbon’s calendar comes alive, but all eyes are on one of the capital’s favorite classics. The Lisbon Book Fair returns to Eduardo VII Park for its 96th edition, running from May 27 to June 14.
More than 2,200 cultural events
Organized by APEL – the Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers, “the country’s largest outdoor literary event” features a packed program from start to finish.
In total, the Lisbon Book Fair will feature over 2,200 confirmed events, including book signings, book presentations, debates, and meetings with national and international authors.
In addition, the literary initiative will retain its 350 booths, with 128 participants confirmed, representing approximately 900 publishing houses.
Outdoor music and cinema
For 19 days, the cultural program at Parque Eduardo VII goes far beyond books. This year, the musical moments continue with “Sextas Há Música,” always at 9:30 p.m., featuring performances by Éme (May 29, North Auditorium), emmy Curl (June 5, North Auditorium), and Gabriel Gomes (June 12, Lusíadas Saúde Auditorium).
However, one of the main new features of this edition is the introduction of outdoor film screenings on Saturday nights, always at 9:30 p.m., in partnership with Cine Society, resulting in an initiative called “Cine Sábado.” In this regard, the program includes true classics of the Seventh Art, such as:
“Pride and Prejudice” (June 13)
- “The Dead Poets’ Society” (May 30)
- “Jurassic Park” (June 6)
- “Pride and Prejudice” (June 13)
