We know how much you love the melted cheese of a good Neapolitan pizza, a pasta dish full of ingredients and spices that make you travel, and the tastiest Italian artisan ice creams. So, because it’s for you, we’ve created this list of Italian restaurants in Lisbon.
Shhh!!! Don’t tell anyone, just keep it between us!
Table Of Contents
La Puttana
If you’re in the Chiado or Low at lunchtime, the restaurant La Puttana has tasty pizzas with very thin crusts .
The ingredients are fresh and some of the proposals are unusual, but they never disappoint. For lunch, there are various menus with pizza or salad options and tastes such as smoked salmon, shitake mushrooms or spicy salami. You’ll want a pizza all to yourself!
Address: Rua Nova do Carvalho 70 (Cais do Sodré)
La Trattoria
We love a good Italian restaurant and La Trattoria is one of our favorites! And the fact that it was the first restaurant to serve Italian cuisine in Lisbon helps a lot.
In other words, has known what Lisboners like for many years!
Address: Rua da Artilharia 1 79 (Marquês de Pombal)
Mano a Mano
No more pizzas! Although you’ll also find this specialty at the Mano a Mano restaurant, what we suggest is one of the most contemporary dishes in Italian cuisine, duly accompanied by a good glass of Italian or Portuguese wine.
At Mano a Mano you’ll find a cozy space and a relaxed atmosphere, in true Italian fashion. The invitation is there, all that’s left is for you to take part in this experience.
Address: Rua do Alecrim 22 (Cais do Sodré)
Valdo Gatti
The handmade organic pizzas are delicious, some of the best we’ve ever tasted, but today our suggestion goes to the Lasagna alla Bolognese , very well stuffed and with a sauce that’s to die for.
At Valdo Gatti, the entire menu strives for quality and the space also focuses on sustainability, both in the ingredients and in the manufacturing processes.
Address: Rua do Grémio Lusitano 13 (Bairro Alto); Rua Cândido dos Reis 5 (Cacilhas)
Saint Lucia
Pizzeria Santa Lúcia can be proud of its wood-fired oven, which gives its pizzas that rustic touch we all love in pizza.
Among the many Italian dishes you can try at Santa Lúcia, such as bruschettas, focaccia, carpaccios, risottos and all kinds of pastas, it’s the pizzas that make this Italian restaurant stand out the most, with a complete menu of more than 40 delicious pizzas.
Address: Avenida Defensores de Chaves 62C (Campo Pequeno)
Mercantina Alvalade
The Mercantina, located in the alvalade neighborhood is certified by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana, considered to be the Michelin star of pizzas, which defines it as one of the best Italian restaurants in Lisbon.
Completely prepared in the fresh pasta laboratory of this restaurant in the Alvalade district, one of our suggestions is this Ravioli Caramelle, very colorful (four colors), with ricotta, ham with garden pesto and cherry tomatoes, proving to be an original and unique pasta dish, where the taste is as important as the image.
Address: Alvalade Square 6B (Alvalade)
Focacceria BM
We were missing a space dedicated to focaccias, like the Focacceria BM, in Lisbon. The city still had no place dedicated exclusively to the famous Italian sandwiches.
It didn’t used to, but now it does and it’s a sin not to stop by and try it.
Address: Rua Bartolomeu Dias 134A
Opening hours: every day from 12pm to 7pm
Nannarela
This isn’t a pizza restaurant, but it is where you can find our favorite dessert, a delicious artisanal ice cream that only the Italians know how to make.
At Lisboa Secreta we like this ice cream parlor so much that we’ve even made a declaration of love. Despite the queues, we’re still in love with those genuinely Italian ice creams that have arrived in the area of São Bento by the Roman Constanza Ventura.
Pistacchio, Flor di Basilico and Parmeggiano Regianno with rock pear are some of the flavors we’ve tried and… we approve! If you prefer, there are also vegan options.
Address: Rua Nova da Piedade 64 (Rato)
