Are you thinking of braving the chaotic traffic on the bridge again to enjoy the beaches of Costa de Caparica, or—even closer to Lisbon— heading to the beaches along the Cascais coast?
Don’t miss out! Lisbon has a new spot, atop a hill, where you can enjoy the pools at a luxury hotel; yes, we said pools—there are two of them—and we’re going to tell you all about them.
Two atmospheres, the same view

This summer, the boutique hotel Torel Palace Lisbon is joining many other hotels in opening its pools to non-guests.
To do so, it has launched a daily pass that will give you access not only to sunbathing but also to swimming and cocktails with an incredible view of the city of Lisbon.
For those who aren’t big fans of traffic, sand, “freezing” water, and crowded beaches, this alternative on Santana Hill—surrounded by historic mansions and gardens—should be on your list of options.

Convenient and secluded from the hustle and bustle of the city (and the most crowded beaches around the capital), the Torel Palace Lisbon also offers a panoramic and privileged view of the Tagus River and the rooftops of Lisbon.
How the “Day Pass” works (and what it includes)

This five-star hotel offers two pools with very distinct features, designed for different times of the day:
- Rectangular pool
- Round pool
Access to both pools will only be granted after you purchase a daily pass, and you must agree to follow certain rules to maintain the tranquility of the spaces. As you may have guessed , these pools are for adults only , who can use them between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for €90, which includes €30 in food and drink credit to be used during your visit.
The menu you can enjoy between dips in the pool and sunbathing

The credit can be spent at the Black Pavilion, the hotel’s restaurant focused on casual dining, with a menu that’s been adapted for warmer days and includes several options for light lunches or mid-afternoon snacks:
- Tomato and ricotta bruschetta;
- Fresh shrimp salad with mango;
- Veal burger;
- Margarita Pizza.
To go with it, the bar menu ranges from a simple cold beer to fresh juices, along with a selection of wines, cocktails, mocktails, and artisanal ice cream.
