Filled with courage, we too overcame our fear of needles and went in search of the best tattoo studios in Lisbon.
Some say it’s a lifestyle! Others claim it helped them get through a phase of their lives, whether good or bad.
Some even say it is the ultimate way to express emotions or feelings, etched onto the body.
Or all of the above, or simply none of it. We know someone for each of these cases, all of them perfectly valid, of course. And we believe in each of these “reasons” for deciding to get a tattoo.
In this sense, we wanted to know where to get the best tattoos in Lisbon, where the most well-known studios are located, with the city’s most renowned artists.
Deep down, where the best ink art on skin is created. And, by the way, where you can also add a piercing to your body!
These studios are renowned for the quality of their artists’ work and the variety of styles available to those looking to get a tattoo or piercing in Lisbon.
If you’re not afraid of needles, keep reading this article! If you are, let go of your fear and embark on this artistic journey. We’re sure you’ll love it!
Medusa Ink Tattoo

In the heart of the capital lies an exclusive and mysterious haven, Medusa Ink Tattoo, whose name carries a powerful global symbol of strength and resilience.
This studio is literally hidden on a third floor, and access is, unusually, through a souvenir shop . Going unnoticed by those walking down the street is precisely what makes the experience exclusive.
As they uncover this urban secret, tourists and locals alike encounter a fascinating contrast: far from the minimalism typical of modern studios, Medusa Ink is an authentic immersion into the soul of Lisbon, offering a welcoming space brimming with personality that blends tattoo subculture with the city’s history, standing out for its classic decor of antique tiles steeped in memory; vintage chandeliers and intimate lighting; walls adorned with classic paintings and decorative plates; and an antique sofa that invites you to share stories before the needle touches the skin.
