Do you want to learn how to create the most famous Portuguese sweet in the world, pastéis de nata? Then sign up for this Masterclass and get ready to get your hands dirty and learn all the secrets of this sweet with Chef João Batalha, one of the founders of the Nat’elier pastry shop, located in downtown Lisbon.
This is a unique experience for foodies and the curious, especially for the biggest fans of pastéis de nata (custard tarts), who are intoxicated every time they smell the irresistible aroma of these pastries as they come out of the oven.
A pastry shop full of creativity
If you follow our pages, you’ve probably already read some of our articles highlighting Chef João Batalha’s art in creating various versions of our precious cake, some of them quite controversial, but all with a lot of creativity and distinct flavors and formats: examples include the Dubai version, the Nutella version, the chestnut version, and even these distinct pastel de nata-flavored dreams, almost always in limited editions that can be tasted for a certain period.
Currently, until August 7, you can stop by Nat’elier to try the chef’s latest creation, the Dubai Chocolate Pastel de Nata . We haven’t been yet, but we’re very much looking forward to trying it, of course!
A Masterclass full of “secrets”
Nat’elier is a cool, modern pastry shop right in the center of downtown Lisbon, and it’s opening its doors to anyone who wants to get their hands dirty.
And we’re not talking about watching videos on the net or following recipes off the shelf! In this Masterclass you’ll have a VIP experience: for around two hours, you’ll be able to go behind the scenes of a professional pastry shop and learn how to make your own pastéis de nata.
The program for this memorable experience includes:
- Journey through the history and culture of pastel de nata;
- Hands-on workshop: from puff pastry made from scratch to smooth, caramelized cream;
- Chef’s moment: mold, fill, cook, and then watch your pastéis de nata take shape;
- On-site tasting: this is the best part and even includes drinks;
- You take home your pastéis, the secret recipe and a certificate: now you can brag about it to your friends.
