Although much of Lisbon’s life is concentrated in the center of the Portuguese capital, the truth is that we also look for less touristy places, such as the Alcântara district.
Lisbon is constantly changing, and its neighborhoods, with the passage of time and will, adapt to new developments and the daily lives of its inhabitants.
Alcântara, fortunately, is one of the places that still has the Portuguese neighborhood feel, but which also brings many new things and activities to the city!
I’m sure that when you’ve been there, you’ve wanted to discover new places and things to do. So todaywe’re going to give you a taste of what you can discover in this riverside neighborhood.

Art in the Green Windows
Alcântara is full of art everywhere, whether it’s street art ormore conventional art.
We suggest a counterpoint between old and new, all in the same street! Visit the National Museum of Ancient Art, where you can see the museum’s collection (which includes paintings, sculptures, ceramics and a bit of everything) and also the temporary exhibitions.
On the other hand, one of the galleries in Lisbon that we like the most is Wozen, which focuses on the work of contemporary artists, with residencies and exhibitions, and also has a tattooarea !

Having a drink at the docks
Why not try Doca de Santo Amaro? Ending the day by the river, glass in hand, sounds like an ideal plan.
You have plenty of options for bars and restaurants in the always busy and fun Docas, so we suggest Havana, full of Latin music, and also Irish & CO., for a more casual and comfortable atmosphere.
