Lisbon’s largest outdoor movie theater is back: the free films you can still catch at Jardim da Estrela

The 2026 edition of CineLapa features seven days of screenings and a lineup ranging from the new “Star Wars” to the highly anticipated “The Devil Wears Prada 2.” Grab your blanket; admission is free.

September brings a return to routine, but in Lisbon, the warm nights still invite you to make plans to get out and about. Cinelapa is officially back at Jardim da Estrela, and this year, it’s extending the celebration of cinema.

Until September 9, Lisbon’s iconic green space will be transformed into a true open-air theater under the stars. There are no reserved seats or tickets to buy: just show up, spread a blanket on the grass, and enjoy the show.

The lineup mixes drama, science fiction, comedy, animation, and even Portuguese productions.

The official day-by-day schedule:

September 7: Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu
September 8: In the Gray Zone
September 9: O Lugar do Morto
