Patrícia Mariano is the street artist behind the latest mural distinguished by Street Art Cities as one of the best in the world; a competition that ran until January 31.
The artist’s work (mural) is called “Calypso” and you can find it (and admire it) in the heart of the Bela Flor neighborhood, near the Amoreiras Shopping Center, on a wall that has been transformed to make way for a window into Greek mythology and ecological awareness.
A work that has captured international attention
Although the “Calypso” mural, which was created during the last edition of MURO | Urban Art Festival, did not win the 2025 edition (it came in 5th), the truth is that it placed Lisbon on the podium as the third best city to see Street Art, in a category based on the number of visitors, the relevance of the works, and interactions.
The beauty of this mural lies in the balance between Patrícia Mariano’s vibrant technique and the depth of the chosen theme, with the artist using this mythological figure to weave a narrative about sustainability and the water cycle, inviting passers-by to reflect on environmental commitment and the preservation of natural resources.
Who won?

In this city ranking,Madrid (Spain) came first and Athens (Greece) second, with the Best Mural of 2025 award going to this city, with this work by @kle_omenis.
