
The Lisbon Book Fair, the city’s biggest literary event, is returning to Parque Eduardo VII, slightly later than usual, this year between June 4 and 22.
With these dates, the event will be able to take advantage of three public holidays, namely Portugal Day (June 10), St. Anthony’s Day (June 13) and Corpus Christi (June 19).
The main highlights of the Book Fair in 2025
The 95th edition of the Lisbon Book Fair, the largest open-air bookstore in the country, will, as always, have free admission and a diverse program for all ages, in more than 350 pavilions, representing 963 publishing brands and more than 85,000 titles for sale.
Among the main activities, we highlight the following:
- Autograph sessions with Portuguese and international authors;
- Book launches and literary talks;
- Workshopsand activities for children, such as story time, drawing and painting workshops, among others;
- The “Camping with Stories” project, which allows 150 children aged between 8 and 10 to spend a day and a night at the fair, promoting a love of reading;
- The “Let’s Plant Books with the Navigator Company” initiative, where each book purchased results in the planting of a tree, reinforcing the event’s environmental commitment.
- Hora H: from Monday to Thursday (except public holidays), in the last hour of the fair (9pm to 10pm), books with minimum discounts of 50% on titles published more than two years ago. On the eve of public holidays, Hour H runs from 10pm to 11pm;
- Book of the Day: Each pavilion highlights an exclusive discounted book every day, encouraging the discovery of new reads;
- Live concerts: on Fridays, free concerts at 10pm, with performances by Martim Seabra (June 6), Os Comuns (June 13) and Teresa Salgueiro (June 20).
It should also be noted that, according to information from the Lisbon Book Fair organization, published by SIC Notícias, the event in 2024 attracted more than one million visitors.
