The initiative is called “Jazzy Bus” and will once again liven up the streets of Lisbon on World Dance Day, which falls on April 29.
The organizers of this “mobile dance floor” are Jazzy Dance Studios, which this year is keeping the same ingredients as last year: a special bus that will travel through the city streets, transforming them into real dance floors, full of movement and unexpected performances.
This video is a small preview of the 2024 event:
The dance route
On April 29, the route of the “Jazzy Bus” will begin in the Santos district and will pass through various emblematic areas of the city, such as:
- Santos
- Estrela
- Marquês de Pombal
- Saldanha
Along the way, there will be various moments with special stops, live choreography and lots of energy to infect everyone who comes across this initiative.
The idea is just one: to celebrate dance as a form of artistic expression, inviting everyone to join the party.
Jazzy Dance Studios is already a reference in dance teaching in Lisbon, operating since 2011, and its mission is to bring this art to more and more people, adding that “those who dance are happier”. That’s why, in addition to this action, for a whole week you can also take part in open classes and special events at the school’s various studios.
World Dance Day, created in 1982 by UNESCO‘s International Dance Committee, is celebrated all over the world to honor this universal art and promote its diversity.
