You don’t have to go to Vienna or Paris. After all, the fourth best Christmas Market in Europe is in the Portuguese capital. Wonderland Lisboa, which returns this Friday, November 28, was recently distinguished by the European Best Destinations platform.
This was the first time that the Lisbon market had entered the ranking, ahead of famous Christmas destinations such as Vienna (Austria), Cologne and Dresden (Germany) or Paris (France). Just ahead of Wonderland Lisboa were Craiova (Romania), the Christmas markets of Zurich (Switzerland) and Riga (Latvia).
The distinction of fourth “Best Christmas Market in Europe 2026” joins other international accolades, such as the “Sunniest Christmas Market in Europe”.
What can we expect from the 10th edition of Wonderland Lisboa?

The kick-off for the 10th edition of Wonderland Lisboa takes place this Friday, November 28, and runs until January 4, 2026. Once again, the meeting point is Eduardo VII Park, located in the heart of the city, with free admission.
After welcoming more than a million visitors in 2024, this year’s expectations are high. And there’s something new: the event will occupy the whole of Parque Eduardo VII, covering a total of 12,000 square meters and featuring 14 attractions.
Highlights of the program

Outside Lisbon, there’s a “Great Christmas Factory” in the enchanted kingdom of Óbidos, or unprecedented illuminations in “Sintra Mágica”. However, for those who don’t want to leave the city, Wonderland is an excellent option for all ages.
Highlights include the Christmas market, Santa’s House, the ecological ice rink (free), the traditional Parisian carousel, restaurant areas, flying chairs (priced between €4.50 and €5) and the iconic Ferris wheel overlooking the Tagus (tickets cost €6).
