On February 14, Valentine’s Day, if you haven’t planned where to take your better half, this dinner at the bottom of the Mira d’Aire Caves, almost 100 meters above the surface, may be the most adventurous suggestion you can find.
Portugal’s best-known caves are still accepting reservations for one of the most romantic – and eccentric – dinners we know of, organized by the company Grand’Ideia.
A really different experience
The Mira d’Aire Caves rarely host events of this kind. So this is one of those opportunities to enjoy a really different experience.
This candlelit dinner, 75 meters underground, will take place in one of the Portuguese caves voted one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal, and this is an exclusive experience for just a few couples (20), under the faint light of hundreds of candles.
The event includes a full dinner for two (including soup and starter, a main course with a choice of meat, fish or a vegetarian option, dessert and a selection of drinks); a visit to the caves before the meal (optional); surprises during the evening (presence of Eduardo Torgal); and the opportunity to stay overnight in a bungalow with breakfast and a romantic pack.
The dinner experience costs €320 per couple and booking is compulsory. If you choose to extend the night, you can book a bungalow for 180€.
