Sol da Caparica is back at the Costa da Caparica Urban Park from August 13 to 16, featuring more than 50 musical performances spread across three stages. We’ve put together the essentials for anyone still planning to attend the festival: lineup, schedule, and how to get there.
Eleven years of Portuguese-language music by the sea
The festival was launched in 2014 by the Municipality of Almada, with the goal of showcasing music in Portuguese—from Portugal and the various Portuguese-speaking countries. By its second edition, in 2015, it had already drawn 75,000 people over four days. After a hiatus forced by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, the festival continued to grow and is now in its 11th edition, with a lineup spanning fado, pop, hip hop, sertanejo, Brazilian funk, Afro-house, and electronic music.

How to get there
The organizers recommend using public transportation, with several Carris Metropolitana routes to Costa da Caparica from Lisbon, Cacilhas, Corroios, Pragal, and Monte de Caparica. Those choosing TVDE have a dedicated pick-up and drop-off area on Alameda Afonso de Albuquerque, next to the Municipal Pavilion—but not next to the “Terra” entrance. If traveling by car, it’s advisable to expect traffic in the immediate vicinity and to look for parking in advance.
