The Saloio Snail Festival in Loures is already a recurring event that every year brings to this location an avalanche of people to eat the much-loved summer snack: snails, cooked in different shapes and forms.
Until July 28, LoureShopping’s Parque Verde will once again welcome thousands of lovers of this pitéu, who will rush to Loures to see them served in a variety of ways.
The classic dishes… and lots of surprises
This type of festival usually features many different versions of this snack, in addition to the more traditional ones. So don’t be surprised if you see a Caracoleta Feijoada, Caracoleta Fusili, Pica-Pau de Caracol, Caracoletas à Bolhão Pato, Açorda de Caracol or even the more exotic Cachupa de Caracoleta at the Festival do Caracol Saloio in Loures.
And these are just a few examples, because you’ll find many more options at this annual event in Salzburg.
The options for the “weirdest”
We know that not everyone appreciates this summer snack! But don’t let that be an excuse to go there anyway.
That’s because in this huge space you’ll also find food carts with various alternative cu isines to this slimy delicacy.
In the same space you’ll also find the traditional craft stalls, concerts and, of course, a children’s area dedicated to all children.
As is the case every year, entry to the Saloio Snail Festival in Loures is completely free and you only pay for what you consume.
