You know, June is synonymous with streets decked out all over the city, even in areas farther from the city center, such as Parque das Nações, which once again hosts another edition of Arraial dos Navegantes (now in its 22nd edition).
The neighborhoods of Alfama, Mouraria, and Graça each have their own charms, but the eastern part of the city hides one of the most authentic and family-friendly celebrations of the Popular Saints, where there is no shortage of traditional grilled sardines among many other foods and drinks.
The meeting place where modernity embraces tradition

It will last only three days, from June 5 to 7, but the festival set up next to the Church of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes will once again transform into a festival that was born and raised by the hands of the residents, merchants, and local volunteers themselves.
Year after year, there have been many new features, from offering a small festival for the little ones, the Arraialito, to being one of the most sustainable festivals in the Portuguese capital.

In the area dedicated to the little ones, a team of volunteers organizes games and fun activities, ensuring that children stay entertained and safe, allowing parents to enjoy the dancing with complete peace of mind.
The pioneer of sustainability in Lisbon’s nightlife
At a time when the ecological footprint of major public events is a hot topic, Arraial dos Navegantes stands out as a model to follow in Lisbon. This commitment to the environment is not a recent trend: since its very first edition, the organization has adopted strict ecological practices:
- Reduced plastics
- Eco-friendly tableware
- Waste management
- Zero waste
