This festival is a highlight of Lisbon’s Popular Saints celebrations, offering nearly a month of festivities, tradition, and camaraderie in Alfama, with plenty of music, traditional food, and fun for all ages.
As is the case every year, live folk music is expected, featuring some of the most entertaining musical groups of the “Santos” (on Fridays, Saturdays, the eve of holidays, and on the night of Saint Anthony, June 12); and as for food and drink, there’s practically everything available at the various stalls in the area, with grilled sardines being the neighborhood’s specialty, as well as pork sandwiches.
