The Popular Saints in Mouraria have already become a hallmark of Lisbon’s “Santos” celebrations, and this year they return to the Mouraria neighborhood .
This group defines this Lisbon festival as the most diverse and inclusive, due to the very characteristics of this multicultural Lisbon neighborhood, where more than 50 different nationalities come together .
A culturally unique festival
Since it’s a “different” neighborhood, the festival will be too. So, if you’re looking for more than just popular music or grilled sardines, this might just be the festival you should attend.
It will certainly be a festival of many reunions, many toasts, grilled sardines, and, of course, plenty of music— preferably the kind that gets you up on your feet to dance.
At Largo da Rosa, between May 28 and June 13, you can look forward to musicians from Angola, Guinea, Cape Verde, Brazil, Cuba, Italy, and, of course, Portugal.
