The ‘beloved month of August’ is one of the Portuguese’s favorites, but the excitement is far from being restricted to this time of year. After all, September is just around the corner and promises plenty of free events in Greater Lisbon, such as the 21st edition of the Odivelas Soup Festival.
Between September 5 and 7, fans of caldo verde, canja and other recipes can head to Largo do Coreto, in Caneças, to sample some of the best soup dishes in the country. In addition, the public can count on a musical program full of great popular names.

Odivelas Soup Festival program
According to the officialwebsite of Odivelas Town Hall, this is the musical program for the event:
September 5 (Friday)
- Quim Barreiros concert at 21h30
- DJ Set at 11pm
September 6th (Saturday)
- Chave D’Ouro Band at 21h00
- DJ Set at 11pm
September 7th (Sunday)
- Concert by Augusto Canário at 21h30
Other useful information
Entry to the venue is free and you only pay for what you consume. It should be noted that each bowl costs €4 and, in addition to the soups, there will be more snacks.
The timetable for the Odivelas Soup Festival is as follows:
- Friday, September 5: from 18:30 to 23:55
- Saturday, September 6: from 12:30 p.m. to 11:55 p.m.
- Sunday, September 7th: from 12:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
