It seems that the fashion for smash burgers is here to stay in Lisbon, as there are more and more of them on offer in the city. But now there’s something new: the opening of No.Sense, and we’ve already been there to try it.
At this spot, located in Saldanha, not only are the flavors disruptive, but also the names of the burgers themselves . So, from a Brad to a Monet, you can choose from some of the greatest “personalities” of our time, and more.
The Secret Lisbon experience
At No.Sense, a small space with a window facing Avenida Duque de Loulé (you can almost see the statue of Marquês de Pombal), we met five personalities who gave their names to five burgers, ranging from the world of soccer to painting.
We tried all the No.Sense burgers , except the vegan version because, come on, it ‘s not smash:
- Brad (€9.90 or combo €13.90), a tribute to the actor, surnamed Pitt, with 160g of matured beef, smashed, white onion, double cheddar, brad sauce, bacon and pickles;
- Kennedy, (€9.90 or combo €13.90), a clear reference to the former president of the United States of America, with 160g of matured beef, double cheddar, ketchup, mustard, chopped onion and pickles;
- Monet (€12.60 or combo €15.60), an allusion to the famous painter, with 160g smashed matured beef, truffle sauce, coleslaw, smoked cheese and sautéed mushrooms;
- Pirlo (€11.90 or combo €14.90), here the reference takes us back to soccer, with 160g of matured beef, basil sauce, rocket, double smoked cheese, dried tomato confit and balsamic cream;
- Greta (€9.90 or combo €13.90), in reference to the young activist, which takes us to the vegan option on the menu.
The Kennedy version shows the most typical smash burger recipe, but it’s the actor Brad Pitt’s version, through the Brad sauce, that you’ll find something different about this type of burger. We love the twist!
The Monet and Pirlo versions, on the other hand, are great for those who like to try new flavors, and the truffle sauce on the Monet and the basil sauce on the Pirlo are really the highlights.
The conclusion we draw from this is that, in addition to the smash burgers we tried, which were really crispy and crunchy, this place has excellent sauces, which you can – and should – enjoy with the delicious fries, in both regular and sweet versions.
