Streetcar 16E will connect Praça do Comércio, in the center of Lisbon, to Parque das Nações, in the Oriente area, in a total of 12 kilometers of line, which aims to strengthen mobility in the following parishes: Santa Maior, São Vicente, Penha de França, Beato, Marvila and Parque das Nações
The Carris project was recently presented and stands out for being the first tramway in Lisbon to operate on a 100% dedicated channel. A total of 18 stops are planned – which we’ll introduce below – as a result of an initial investment of 160 million euros, co-financed by European funds.
This project guarantees the continuity of the riverside railway line from Algés to Parque das Nações, allowing greater coverage with the same mode and fewer transfers. With this line it will be possible to travel between the city center and Parque Tejo in 35 minutes, compared to the current 60 minutes,” reads the officialwebsite of the Tram 16E project.
