But if you need some ideas, we took a look at the list of the 50 most booked restaurants in Portugal on The Fork in 2025. And Lisbon stands out.
Of the 50 most coveted venues on the platform, most are located in the Portuguese capital, but if we extend the geographical coverage to Greater Lisbon , the ‘dominance’ becomes even more evident, with 42 venues in this area. The remaining choices are distributed across Greater Porto, Aveiro, and Coimbra.
The three ‘champions’ of reservations
Overall, the list of the 50 most booked restaurants in Portugal on The Fork shows a growing appreciation for authenticity and gastronomic identity, covering ‘classics’ of Portuguese cuisine, as well as places that reinterpret tradition with a contemporary touch.
But who are the three ‘champions’ of reservations? In first place is Lisbon’s Cervejaria Ramiro. Founded in the 1950s, this seafood restaurant is a classic in the capital, with long queues often forming on Avenida Almirante dos Reis.
In second place is Garden Balthazar Café in Porto, a relaxed venue that stands out for its brunch offerings , followed by Contrabando Mexican Food in Almada.
