It’s true that Lisbon is no longer a cheap city to find good restaurants for under €10! Still , after much searching, we’ve put together a list of places that you’re sure to enjoy.
These cuisines are different, but they have one thing in common: the price!

If you’re looking for a solution for weekday lunches in Lisbon that breaks the routine, Mama Shelter has the answer. From Monday to Friday, the restaurant offers three lunch menus that combine price, flavor, and speed.
But only one of them fits on this list, which is the most affordable option: the Dish of the Day, for €10, which changes daily.

The new Bitoques à Portuguesafrom A Padaria Portuguesa are proof that a meal doesn’t have to be expensive.
With tender meat, a fried egg (which could be better), French fries (plastic, but edible), rice, and a flavorful sauce, this classic won’t let you down, maintaining a tradition that Lisboners love: an “okay” meal for less than €10, in what is the perfect option for those who want to eat quickly and cheaply in various parts of the city of Lisbon.

Tasca do Tretas is one of those hidden gems in the middle of the city that is still open from Sunday to Friday, with a menu that doesn’t exceed €10.
It’s located in Alameda, in the actors’ neighborhood, and as for the food, it’s anything but “crap”! The weekly menu, starting at €7.50, consists of:
- on Sundays there is always Leitão
- On Mondays, you have Feijoada à Transmontana, Mão de Vaca, and Dobrada.
- on Tuesdays, Fava Beans with Ribs and Jardineira
- on Wednesdays, it’s the traditional Cozido à Portuguesa
- on Thursdays, the house specialty, Pernil (reservations recommended)
- on Fridays you can try Arroz de Cabidela (chicken rice) and Piano no Forno (oven-baked chicken).
The portions are always very generous, a source of pride for those who serve at the table, who are always very friendly and available to provide any extras.
Das Flores

Very close to Largo de Camões is one of the smallest taverns, but always with delicious food, which we have already had the opportunity to try.
And you don’t even need a name! Just search for “restaurante Das Flores” and there it is.
Get the phone number because you’ll definitely need to book a table if you want to eat here, in a space that seats just over 20 people, 22 to be precise.
As for the dishes, our suggestion is the Beef Croquettes with Tomato Rice. They are small, always served hot, and are among the most delicious we have ever eaten.
If you order them individually, don’t forget to add a little mustard on top.
O Trevo

For many years, Lisboners have been passing by this bifana tavern right in front of Largo de Camões.
Some say that grilled steak is even better than pork sandwich, but that’s another discussion.
If you want to vary, there are also other options, such asBitoque à Trevo, omelets, alheira guarnecida, or the dishes of the day, which are always different and priced below €10.
Balcão do Marquês

Balcão do Marquês is very close to Marquês de Pombal. It’s not exactly a tavern, but it serves typical Portuguese dishes at authentic tavern prices. That’s why it’s on this list.
Every day you have a choice of four dishes, including fish, meat , and a popular option, starting at €6.95. If you want to opt for the menu of the day, for €10.30, it includes the dish of the day + drink or soup + coffee or pastel de nata.
Água no Bico

At the Pólo Cultural das Gaivotas, you will find a pleasant garden with a nice restaurant.
Here you’ll find everything: vegetarian cuisine, culture, Vhils, and a delicious menu of the day for €10.
Pato Real

Famous for its family-sized cakes, Pato Real – Royal Duck to its friends and regular customers – is also a good bet for Portuguese comfort food, and that steak with fries that we love, which used to cost only €6.
Add a beer and a coffee and you’re all set for lunch.
Bio Vegetarian Restaurant

This is our second vegetarian restaurant on the list! A good veggie restaurant, with appetizing and very well-prepared food. So you’re sure to leave with a full stomach.
As always, the prices are very attractive and easy on the wallet.
Confeitaria Cistér

Open since 1838, Cister never disappoints. Famous for being a confectionery and pastry shop, it is also an excellent option for a pleasant and appetizing lunch, with very inexpensive menus.
It is said that Eça de Queirós used to go there for coffee, and you can go there too.
Saga

We already know that all the pastry shops in the city serve lunch, and Saga is no exception.
Despite being one of the newest on this list (it opened in 2016), it has already won a place in our hearts, with very affordable menus under €10.
Ghoroa

There are many Indian restaurants, butthis is one of our favorites and has the friendliest staff in Lisbon.
There are two lunch menus, one for vegetarians and one for omnivores. The first includes a vegetable curry, rice, a drink, and coffee. The second has the same options, but the main course is a delicious chicken curry.
Try it inside or on the small terrace, between 12pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
Casa da Índia

The specialty is roast chicken, but here you’ll find a little bit of everything that’s good about traditional Portuguese cuisine, from charcoal-grilled fish to the house special steak for two (can you imagine what that’s like?).
Then there are always the dishes of the day, with an emphasis on grilled meats, as well as a range of delicious desserts, which you can enjoy with a coffee and a bagasse.
