The closure of 1300 Taberna marks the end of one of the most peculiar restaurants LX Factory has ever had, following the decision not to renew the contract by those responsible for this multicultural space in Alcântara.
For Chef Nuno Barros, responsible for this restaurant for 14 years,
After several years of hard work and dedication, we were surprised by the decision of the management and current shareholders of LX Factory not to renew our contract, assigning the 1300 Taberna space to another company in the sector. We deeply regret this decision, above all because, over the years, we have always maintained an exemplary relationship, fulfilling all our obligations to Lx Factory and actively contributing to its cultural and gastronomic dynamics.”

An administrative decision
The 1300 Taberna restaurant is known for having been one of the founding pillars of LX Factory, having been there forever (2011), so the closure of its kitchen, definitively, is considered local news of great impact, especially for those who came here to taste some of the unique delicacies that this spot served.

According to 1300 Taberna’s statement on its social networks, its closure was due solely to an administrative decision not to renew the contract, and this news fell like a bombshell on the team and the thousands of customers who used to frequent this place.
After 14 years, located right at the entrance to this incredible cultural space, 1300 Taberna was no longer “just” another restaurant, becoming a gastronomic reference for Lisboners, visitors and tourists alike, who helped “spread the word” through the experiences they had here.

The last day… and the stuff you can buy
The 1300 Taberna restaurant served its last meals on October 4 and opened its doors again on the holiday of October 5, for one last drink and to sell all its furniture, including kitchen equipment.
As not everything was bought by those who visited 1300 Taberna on that day, you still have time to contact them to buy some items, ranging from furniture to decorative pieces:
As we’re leaving and won’t be opening another space, we’re selling everything we have in the restaurant. Tables, chairs, crockery, cutlery, glasses and all the rest of the decoration and room service. Also all the kitchen equipment!”
After the shock of this news, Chef Nuno Barros thinks it’s time to reflect, and there are no plans to open another restaurant with the same name in another part of the city, thus regretting the loss of yet another iconic restaurant in the capital.
