The Christmas spirit has arrived on the streets of Lisbon and, with it, so has one of its most beloved and supportive symbols: the CARRIS Christmas Tram.
This historic initiative, which has been running uninterruptedly since 1980, is back for its 43rd edition, transforming the traditional streetcar into a stage for celebration, magic and social responsibility.
Exclusive trips for schools and families
Pay close attention to these dates: from December 2 to 16, the focus is on school groups. It’s a unique and educational opportunity for children to celebrate Christmas in a different setting, for a symbolic price of just €2.50 per person.
For families, mark December 13 and 14 on your calendar. These two days are dedicated to families, with departures from Santo Amaro Station from 9.20am to 4.40pm, and prices of €5 per child (aged 3 to 18) and €10 per adult.
As always, the CARRIS Christmas Tram is driven by a “Santa Claus” and there’s lots of entertainment throughout the journey between Santo Amaro Station and Algés, as well as many enchanting stories.
However, more than just a Christmas ride, this trip is also a real act of solidarity, as the total value of the tickets goes to Café Joyeux, a fundamental inclusion project that offers training and employment to people with intellectual and developmental difficulties, promoting dignity and autonomy.
Gifts for everyone
Faber-Castell is once again joining this initiative by offering some gifts for the little ones (and also for the teachers); and Edding will be contributing chalk markers, so that the children can once again paint the windows of their very own Christmas Tram with their Christmas drawings.
