Enjoying a coffee first thing in the morning, or as a snack while browsing a book, is one of those simple pleasures in life that tastes even better when you find a ‘refuge’ from the hustle and bustle of the city. That’s why we’ve already prepared a themed itinerary dedicated to Lisbon’s bookshops-cafés. But now how about discovering a place where specialty coffee reigns?
Located in Campo de Ourique, Double Trouble is a new space that has sprung up in the city and aims to stand out as an intimate meeting place. Created by three Brazilian friends, Júlia, Thiago and Rico, the spot celebrates specialty coffee in a vintage atmosphere with jazz in the mix.

Beverage highlights
Under the motto of the “coffee and little things” experience, Double Trouble focuses on more common drinks, such as espresso (€1.20), americano (€2.50) and macchiatos (€2.30), as well as less obvious options.
We highlight products such as the Mont Blanc (€4.20), an Australian trend that combines iced coffee with a layer of creamy custard.
The Mont Fuji (€4.80) is a version inspired by matcha. There’s also the Batidão (€5), an icy (and unusual) mix of milk, banana, peanut butter and a shot of espresso.
What about snacks?
Although the main role belongs to the specialty coffee, at Double Trouble you can also snack. For example, the Terry Towel (€3.90) is a coconut cake that promises to delight many.
Another highlight is the Tamógostoso (€9), a reinvention of the classic Japanese “tamago sando” sandwich, but with a Portuguese twist with the addition of chouriço. The menu also includes vegetarian and vegan options.
A well-deserved break at Double Trouble
With seating for 16, Double Trouble has a vintage décor, where the background music is provided by a record player from the 1950s and jazz sounds dominate . To sit back, relax and enjoy.
