Did you know that Lisbon is considered one of the most stressful cities in Europe to drive in? With so much traffic, it’s not surprising that some people opt for other means of transportation. In this respect, GIRA bikes can be an alternative, and this network continues to grow in the capital.
According to information shared on social media by EMEL, as of this Thursday, February 27, Lisbon has three new GIRA stations: the first in the parish of Santa Clara and two more in the parish of Avenidas Novas.
Where to find the new GIRA bicycle spots?
For those who can’t do without cycling, here are the locations of the new stations:
- Santa Clara: 580 – Azinhaga da Cidade / Parque de Estacionamento Ameixoeira, 31 docks
- Avenidas Novas: 447 – Avenida 5 de Outubro / Avenida António Serpa, 20 docks; 455 – Avenida Álvaro Pais / Rua Sousa Lopes, 20 docks
188 stations in the city
These openings join others that took place in January this year, when EMEL announced the inauguration of eight more stations.
In this way, the network continues to grow, with a total of 188 stations spread across the city.
