The debut of “Um Domingo na Avenida,” the highly anticipated Chic-Nic that was scheduled for November 2, 2025 , at Parque Eduardo VII, will indeed take place this year, and there are not many days left until it happens.
The organizers, Lohad and Associação Avenida da Liberdade, have just announced that this musical and gastronomic event will finally take place on May 3, Mother’s Day.

The new luxury “Chic-Nic” in Lisbon is called “A Sunday on the Avenue” and promises to transform Eduardo VII Park into a giant picnic with premium baskets, live music, and the best that Avenida da Liberdade has to offer.
The event is scheduled to take place between 12pm and 7pm in one of the city’s most elegant gardens, which will be the stage for the first musical “Chic-Nic” in living memory, an initiative by the same organizers as Chefs on Fire.

The first edition of the new event “A Sunday on the Avenue” will feature a selection of 10 of the best restaurants you can find on Avenida da Liberdade, with menus yet to be revealed.
The idea is that each participant reserves their basket and/or exclusive towel at one of these venues and chooses a place in the spacious garden of Parque Eduardo VII.
Both the basket and the towel are designed to be taken home as a souvenir of this unique moment.
Live music with David Fonseca and the Metropolitan Academic Orchestra
In terms of musical entertainment, the highlight of the day will be the concerts by David Fonseca and the Metropolitan Academic Orchestra, who will take to the stage to play a special repertoire.
Two ticket formats
This “Chic-Nic” offered two types of tickets with very different prices, depending on the type of experience you wanted to enjoy:
- 2-Person Experience Ticket for €150:
- With access to the venue, 10 exclusive dishes, a bottle of wine, and musical concerts. The picnic basket is not included but can be purchased on site.
- Premium Ticket with Basket (€300):
- Includes the full experience for two people, with the difference that it already includes the picnic basket.
- Children up to 12 years old can join in, without the need for an additional reservation.
This is a different way to experience Avenida da Liberdade and the gardens of Parque Eduardo VII, in a community gathering that promises lots of fun in the center of Lisbon.
