It’s confirmed: U2 will perform at Estádio da Luz on May 27, 2027. The announcement was made this Thursday, and Lisbon is one of the European dates on the band’s new world tour, “The Greatest Show On Earth,” which kicks off in April in Stockholm.
Wolf Alice, the British band that accompanies U2 on all their European dates, will open the show.
The return to a Portuguese stadium

The last time U2 played at a stadium in Portugal was in October 2010, with two sold-out concerts at the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra.
They returned to the country in September 2018 for two nights at the arena then known as Altice Arena and now called MEO Arena.
As a reminder, the band’s history with Portugal began in 1982 at the Vilar de Mouros festival. Formed in 1976, U2 will celebrate their 50th anniversary as a band in 2026.
The tour also serves to showcase their latest album, *Carnaval De Luz*, their first studio album of original material in nine years, which is set to be released on November 13.
To secure your spot, you won’t have to wait long: the first presale, for subscribers to the band’s official website, begins on Monday, November 2, at 10 a.m. This will be followed by a presale for VISA customers on November 4 and another for those who have pre-registered on November 5. General sales begin on Friday, November 6, at 10 a.m.
