In order to maintain good standards of service quality, after the timetable was reinstated in December, CP – Comboios de Portugal has announced a temporary readjustment to its train offer on the Cascais Line, with new timetables.
The new timetables will take effect from March 23rd and, according to the Portuguese railway company, this measure is intended to reduce the impact of the modernization works on the line, as well as the interventions for the future Circular Line at Cais do Sodré.
Until when?
This change is provisional, at least until both works require it, and should be in force until the end of the first half of the year.
With this change, several improvements are expected in terms of train punctuality, minimizing delays and greater efficiency in the boarding and disembarking lines at Cais do Sodré.
It is expected that from March 23rd onwards, trains will run every 15 minutes during rush hour , with eight trains per hour (four in each direction).
CP also guarantees that the new timetables have been designed to offer greater spacing between the Cascais and Oeiras trains , making better use of seats and reducing the constraints on the succession of carriages between Santo Amaro and Oeiras.
