The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum will be closed for renovations from March 18th, but before it temporarily closes its doors, this weekend will guarantee free tickets to visit a very special exhibition.
The extensive refurbishment that the museum will undergo, which will last until July 2026, has to do with renovations to the air conditioning, lighting and security systems, as well as harmonizing the galleries and improving the visitor experience.
For this reason, and in order to mitigate this closure , as a “gift”, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has been presenting, since March 12, the Gulbenkian Collection exhibition, which consists of 200 emblematic pieces.
Special program
Before it closes this Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16, the foundation is offering free admission and activities for holders of the Gulbenkian Card (which can be requested free of charge on the website).
Among the various attractions are workshops, guided tours, talks with museum curators and a concert with soloists from the Gulbenkian Orchestra. The full program can be found on the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum website.
Admission will be free on March 15 and 16 for Gulbenkian Card holders, who can purchase up to two tickets free of charge on the Foundation’s website.
