Considered one of the best pizzerias in Lisbon, and even in Europe, the Forno D’Oro pizzeria was one of the most mentioned by Lisboa Secreta readers.
We confess: we’ve never been there, but it shouldn’t be long before we’re there to try what are considered to be some of the best pizzas in the city, having already been honored with an award equivalent to a Michelin star, the Verace Pizza Napoletana award.
Those who have been there say that just seeing this pizzeria’s oven is worth the trip. The wood-fired oven wasn’t bought ready-made, but was built on the restaurant’s premises and then lined with gold.
Yes, you read that right, this oven is lined with gold. How else could Chef Tanka Sapkota’s famous pizzas be cooked ?
