With a counter lined with green tiles and a neon sign displaying the limited menu of sandwiches and snacks, Hink’s Deli is Lisbon’s newest spot dedicated exclusively to making American-style sandwiches.
The space, which functions as a small window facing the street, offers a fast-food concept centered on comfort, entirely inspired by classic New York City delis, and brings this vibe to the heart of one of Lisbon’s trendiest neighborhoods, Campo de Ourique.
Original and delicious combinations
All made in-house, from the creative sauces to the bread dough, every sandwich is built on pre-toasted ciabatta bread and served wrapped in custom paper bearing the restaurant’s logo.
Of the three sandwich options available, priced from €11 to €14, we tried and highlight the two best-sellers:
- Chicken Caesar (€12)
- Italian Veg (€11)
- French Dip (€14)
The menu displayed on the wall also reveals other American influences, such as the Tuna Salad (€11), which features premium tuna, fresh cucumber, pickled onions, chives, and capers, all tossed in the house horseradish mayonnaise; and the Chicken Box (€11), consisting of five buttermilk-breaded chicken thighs, served with a selection of house-made sauces.
Made in-house
The venue’s identity stems not only from the selection of key ingredients but, above all, from the attention to detail in the seasonings. All the sauces used in the sandwiches are made entirely in-house, ensuring a unique and distinctive flavor profile for each dish.
This more artisanal approach to condiments and the emphasis on hearty fillings and bread solidify the offerings of this new neighborhood spot, designed for a quick and satisfying meal without the need for tables and chairs.
