Lisboa Wrestlefest III, the Portuguese wrestling show, will return to Parque Mayer on July 26 at 6pm, in an event that promises to make this place the epicenter of lots of action and fun.
Free and open to all ages, the third edition of Lisboa Wrestlefest promises plenty of adrenaline, culture and tradition, with various matches and a main attraction: the face-off between Luís Mestre – the current Lisboa Champion – and Damião, his former tag team partner, in a match full of history and intense rivalry.
In this edition, in the center of the capital of Lisbon, they will both compete for the mythical Lisbon belt, whose legend dates back to the 1930s, paying homage to legendary names such as Carlos Rocha and Tarzan Taborda.
What will you see at this wrestling show?
Mainly, a return to wrestling matches as Lisbon’s cultural expression, since Parque Mayer is also known for having been the stage for several historic matches in the 50s.
According to Nelson Pereira, the event’s promoter and historian,
Since the days of Carlos Rocha and Tarzan Taborda, wrestling has been present – but it’s today, with the best generation of wrestlers we’ve ever had, that this legacy takes on a new lease of life.”
Address: Parque Mayer
