With the summer vacations upon us, sometimes we don’t know how to entertain the children. But one of the many advantages of living in Lisbon is that there is no shortage of options. In this context, playgrounds are always a good choice.
Firstly, because they are free to access. But that’s not the only reason. After all, these spots are fundamental to children’s healthy development and offer physical, psychological and social benefits.
They provide an environment where children can explore, play outdoors, interact with other children, develop motor skills, strengthen their muscles, control their weight and even improve their self-esteem .
Playgrounds also allow children to learn to share and understand the rules of coexistence with each other.
So if you want to get the kids out of front of the TV, all you have to do is take a look at our suggestions. Our playgrounds are real adventure scenes.
There are Indian camps and children’s driving schools in Alto da Serafina, a caravel in the classic Alvito, a castle to conquer in Parque da Fantasia, rowing boat races on the lake in Jardim do Campo Grande, a giraffe to climb in Jardim da Estrela or a huge web of ropes to climb!
And don’t forget that your presence is fundamental and important in guiding them and ensuring their safety while they play in these parks.
Slides and swings are for boys, these playgrounds promise much more.

At the top of Belém you can see a windmill, go skateboarding or see a waterfall, at Torel you can take a dip in the fountain and dry off in the sun (in summer, of course), at Quinta das Conchas there are the best slides and at Quinta Pedagógica dos Olivais there are donkeys and cows ready to be petted.

There’s even a Turma da Mónica park, where you can play with the characters from the most famous Brazilian comic book.
Take a picnic or fill the little ones up with treats, after all, this is where memories are made forever, just don’t stay at home on your cell phone, there are plenty of adventures ahead!
