If you’re familiar with Ajitama— which serves one of our favorite ramen dishes— you know that António Carvalhão and João Azevedo Ferreira are constantly coming up with new ideas to breathe new life into their venues, ever since the 2017 supper club, which at one point had nearly 2,000 people on its waiting list.
If you follow them, you know that in addition to Ajitama in Saldanha, they also have two Ramen Station locations— in Benfica and Campo Pequeno—which have just changed their name to simply “Station,” a brand that aims to offer the same Ajitama experience but for a different generation, while also having its own identity.
“When we opened Ramen Station, it made sense for ramen to be at the center of everything. However, we realized that people wanted more choice and that we ourselves wanted to explore more. Removing ‘Ramen’ from the name gives us that freedom, without erasing what brought us this far,” explain the co-founders.
Ramen remains on the menu, which now features additional options

One thing’s for sure: those huge bowls of broth aren’t going anywhere! You’ll still find them in four varieties:
- Amazing Shio (€9.95)
- Incredible Miso (€11.95)
- Sublime Vegan (€11.95)
- Kids Ramen (€7.45)

It’s precisely what’s left out of these bowls that best explains the changes to the new menu at the revamped Station, which includes noodles without broth and two new donburi:
- Epic Mazemen (€12.95)
- Pad Tokyo (€11.95)
- Gold Jap Curry (€11.95)
- Smoky Chashu Don (€11.95)

If you’re not that hungry, you’ll find a new selection of street-food-style delicacies, designed for sharing:
- Karaage (€6.45)
- Chicken wings (€7.95)
- Yakitori (€5.95)
- Ebi tempura (€6.95)
- Takoyaki (€6.25)
- Chicken or vegetable gyozas (2 for €2.90; 5 for €4.60)
- Edamame (€2.80)
To top it off, there are mochi (€ 1.95 to €3.80) in mango and passion fruit, chocolate, or raspberry flavors .

The transformation goes beyond the menu. Station is also debuting a more urban and laid-back visual identity, with a clear focus on building community through the space, music, digital content, and future collaborations.
The stated goal is to serve as a meeting place and a stopover, true to the metaphor of the name.
