Storm Kristin has passed, but it left a trail of destruction, particularly in the districts of Coimbra, Leiria, and Santarém, as well as a total of nine fatalities. However, forecasts for the coming days point to continued bad weather, so it is important to take some preventive measures.

- Do not cross flooded areas
- Do not engage in water sports
- Do not park vehicles in areas prone to flooding, or near trees, poles, or unstable structures
- Keep a safe distance from trees, poles, or unstable structures
- Avoid parking vehicles in places such as underground parking lots and basements
