In Lisbon, notall festivalsare the same, andover the years, many have, in one wayor another, tended to lose their authenticity—either because they go overboard with attractions (lights or entertainment) or because they’ve started to focus more and more on tourists’ wallets(it has to be said).
That’s why we like to promote those that still have that neighborhood charm, such as the festival held at the Sapadores Market, right at the entrance to the Graça neighborhood, where “A Minha Penha é Linda” takes place .
The true spirit of the neighborhood

This festival is still one of the few havens where tradition remains intact, lived by and for the people.
It will take place between June 9 and 12 and promises to bring back to the Sapadores Market the calm and joy that already set it apart from the “major commercial circuits” of the Lisbon Festivals.
And if you’re looking for a big-name music lineup featuring the most famous artists , you can move on; here, what matters is the community, the moment, and the camaraderie among all the residents and their visitors.

At the “A Minha Penha é Linda” festival, you’ll find long tables set up for sharing with strangers, as well as for neighbors to reconnect, with plenty of the usual food and drink on offer, such as sardines dripping onto bread, hot pork sandwiches, bread with chorizo , and plenty of beer and wine.
Of course, there’s also music and dancing

With a musical program designed for all ages and tastes, the “A Minha Penha é Linda” festival kicks off with Manuel João and DJ Mário Paulo to get the crowd going on the first day, with one of the biggest highlights being June 10 (Portugal Day), when the venue opens at 4 p.m. to welcome Penha Kids, dedicating an entire afternoon to the little ones, with inflatables and various free activities.
