In recent times, the city has become an increasingly popular destination for lovers of Peruvian gastronomy, evidence of which we find in new Peruvian restaurants in Lisbon every day.
In these spaces, most of which are decorated in homage to the culture of one of Latin America’s most beloved peoples, you’ll find a wide variety of dishes typical of that country, such as the well-known and traditional ceviches, anticuchos, lomos saltados, causas and, of course, the delicious tiraditos, not forgetting one of the most incredible cocktails from this part of the globe, the Pisco Sour.
Among many other delights we’ve tasted, this is the essential guide to getting to know some of the best Peruvian restaurants in Lisbon. The challenge is “served”!
Table Of Contents
QOSQO
QOSQO is the oldest Peruvian restaurant in Lisbon… and we’ve even been (several times) to see that it has some of the most traditional delicacies from this beautiful Latin American country.
At QOSQO you’ll find the best flavors and aromas of Peru, prepared by those who know how to do it perfectly.
The menu includes classic dishes such as corvina ceviche, tuna tiraditos and lomo saltado, as well as the Pisco Sour cocktail in various flavors.
Address: Rua dos Bacalhoeiros 26A (near Campo das Cebolas)
Opening hours: every day from 1pm to 11pm
Menu suggestion: at Fever
Choclo
Created by Chef Matías de Araujo and co-owner Katharina Galaz Goyke to honor the Peruvian tradition of bringing people together to share food and drink while creating memories, Choclo is one of the big surprises in this guide to the best Peruvian restaurants in Lisbon
In such a small space, set in one of Lisbon’s most beautiful streets (in Bica), at Choclo you’ll find all the freshness of the ingredients most commonly used in Peruvian cuisine.
The menu isn’t the most complete, but the native flavors are all there. You just have to go and try it and see how right we are!
Address: Rua da Bica de Durte Belo 29 (Bica)
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 12 noon to 11 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Dish suggestion: Carretillero Mixto
The Cevicheria
If you’re looking for a place to eat good ceviche in Lisbon, A Cevicheria by Chef Kiko Martins, in Príncipe Real, is the place to try… not least because the place has incredible decor.
As the name suggests, here you can try some of the most delicious ceviches in the city, from one of Latin America’s richest and freshest cuisines.
If QOSQO brought Peruvian cuisine to the center of Lisbon, Chef Kiko has done us the favor of making it even better known to all Lisboners and visitors to the city.
Address: Rua Dom Pedro V 129 (Príncipe Real)
Opening hours: every day, from 12 noon to 11.30 p.m.
Dish suggestion: any ceviche is always a good choice
El Cebichero
At number 46 Praça das Flores, which is one of the areas with the most restaurants per square meter in Lisbon, we found this El Cebichero, which also specializes – and very well – in the famous Peruvian ceviches.
Relaxed and with a very modern décor, it serves a ceviche, El Clandestino, which is one of the most incredible wonders we’ve ever tasted: with seafood and white fish in coriander cream… everything we love in one bowl.
Small groups usually gather at the door, just waiting to be lucky enough to try what comes out of this Peruvian cuisine in Lisbon.
Address: Praça das Flores 46 (Príncipe Real)
Hours: Friday to Sunday, from 6pm to 1am; Wednesday and Thursday, from 7pm to 1am
Dish suggestion: El Clandestino
Amaru Peruvian Street Lab
Amaru Peruvian Street Lab is in Cais do Sodré and serves Peruvian food in the most relaxed way we’ve found in Lisbon.
And they don’t just serve ceviches, like the best-selling Lo Puro. At Amaru you won’t be able to avoid trying the Tacu-taco or Picoteo starters, or the De Papa Dulce.
As for the drinks, you won’t leave without trying the Vegan Pisco, the Beerful Chilcano or the Pineapple Piscarita, each one more surprising than the last.
Address: Praça das Flores 46 (Príncipe Real)
Opening hours: Thursday to Tuesday, from 11am to 1am; Wednesday, from 4:30pm to 1am
Dish suggestion: Lo Puro
Segundo Muelle
Straight from the capital of Lima, Peru, comes Segundo Muelle, which has been there since the 90s. Today it has spread its Peruvian gastronomic art around the world to five countries, one of which is Portugal, in the capital Lisbon, more precisely in Cais do Sodré.
Here you can smell the fresh flavours of the sea, especially the specialty of the house, a ceviche with white fish of the day, octopus slices and an enveloping sauce to die for.
But if you’ve never tried ceviche in your life, our suggestion is the Piqueo Tres Cebiches, which introduces you to three small examples of this traditional Peruvian dish.
Address: Praça D. Luis I 30, loja 4b (Cais do Sodré)
Opening hours: Sunday to Thursday, from 12 noon to 11.30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, from 12 noon to 12 p.m.
Dish suggestion: Piqueo Tres Cebiches
