This route, which is traveled every day by thousands of drivers passing through this road on their way to work in the city center (and also on their way home), is now more creative than ever— a true open-air urban gallery.
The “Vivo” Project: Four Pillars of Local Identity
Created by João Pereira, the creative mind behind the D’outros Tipos project, this work was commissioned by the Vila Franca de Xira City Council and represents the second phase of an artistic revitalization plan that began in 2021, coinciding with the inauguration of the local bike path.
Named “Vivo,” this continuous visual journey was not designed at random. The mural’s contemporary graphic language intertwines naturally with the community’s heritage, highlighting four key elements that define the Vila Franca region:
