David Lopes’ statement sums up what will happen on the first-ever literary journey between Lisbon and the Alentejo, with this “Literary Train” establishing itself as one of the most daring cultural experiences of recent times.
Alongside your favorite authors

On May 9 and 10, those who managed to purchase tickets —all seats are already reserved— for this inaugural trip will have the opportunity to travel in historic train cars for a cultural experience alongside great Portuguese authors, such as Rodrigo Guedes de Carvalho, Pedro Chagas Freitas, Isabela Figueiredo, Luísa Sobral, Daniel Sampaio, and Domingos Amaral, among others.
The journey departsfrom Santa Apolónia toward the Alentejo, and although this edition is already sold out, the organizers are already accepting registrations for the next one— simply send a direct message (DM) on their Instagram page to be the first to know.
What will happen on board?

During the journey of this “Literary Train,” the lucky few who secured a ticket will have the opportunity to mingle, share perspectives, and participate in reading sessions with various guest writers, and the itinerary through the Alentejo region also includes:
- Literary debates and cultural moments;
- Visit to Évora Cathedral and the Book Fair;
- A stop at the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa and other heritage landmarks.
Useful information:
The fact that tickets for this first edition sold out in just 24 hours shows there is great interest in this type of initiative, so the organizers are already planning the second edition for soon; stay tuned because as soon as tickets go on sale, we’ll let you know 😉
